Note 9 pro and HEARING AIDS

Hello everyone. I have had this cell for about a year. Works great and happy with it.

Recently, I purchased new hearing aids.
The aids are branded as SONIC ENCHANT 60 (" minirite" ).
Settings indicate they are paired through bluetooth. However, under the Hearing Aid setting, it says no hearing aids connected. When a call comes in, it does not stream to the ears.

Can someone help out on this?
Thanks to all.

Yay! Got upgraded to 11!

The other day I noticed an alert and followed it, and I now have shiny new Android 11 on my phone! :)

I stepped through its 'new features' intro, and it looks like they've really added a lot. How much of it I'll actually use is anyone's guess, but it's nice to have anyway.

Oh, it's a Motorola One Hyper.

Anything in particular you think I might want to check out? :thinking:

Apps Can't get info back into android app from php webpage

Hello

My english is very bad, so i hope you understand.

I make my own apps, and most off the time in fragment activities
On my website i have a php script, that will check if the username and password is correct filled in in the application.

I hace to get back from the website the userID, firstname and email address from the database, this info is stored in a json format like below:
Code:
$result1["rol"] = $rol;
        $result1["login"] = $login;
        $result1["username"] = $Qusername;
        $result1["userid"] = $userID;
        $result1["mail"] = $Qmail;
        echo json_encode($result1);

login is a 0 or 1 for check if the user is correct login.

ut how to get the $result1 back to android.....

I have the following on my website visible

Code:
{"rol":"9","login":"1","username":"christiaan","userid":"9998","mail":"c.***@h***e.nl"}

And I tried to read that in android with:

Code:
val apiResponse = URL(urlW).readText()

val url = URL(urlW)

val urlConnection = url.openConnection() as HttpURLConnection

val text = urlConnection.inputStream.bufferedReader().readText()

tUser.text = text

urlConnection.disconnect()

urlW contains the full link.

I write app in kotlin.

No file transfer

I have been tearing my hair out for a week now. This is what have to do every time I switch my NEW Alba 10.1 on.
1) plug into PC
2) go to settings. Scroll down to tab about 7 times [first time only] to get into developer
3) type in USB on the search bar
4) Select USB Prefrences
5) Switch from No data transfer to File transfer.

I have to go through this routenn EVERY TIME. This is a joke. Is Android 10 still in beta or something?

Help Samsung default email app - can't block spam

G'day!

I'm just helping my father out with some spam issues. He's got a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and uses the standard email app shipped with the device. From what I've read he should be able to block a spam email address by clicking the options (3 dots) and then "Mark as spam". However, that option isn't available in the menu.

Checking the galaxy store, the version is 4.2.81.2 and is dated 27 June 2019.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Help needed to explain a battery problem Galaxy Note 8

Screenshot_2021-05-01-18-50-02.png
HELP!!

Hi everyone.

Seems like years since I've been here (and it HAS BEEN years indeed)
OK, so I am a dinosaur still using the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

This was perfectly fine until October 2020 when the battery started to misbehave and had to be replaced (at the local "experts" shop).
At the same time the "Factory Mode" appeared on the tablet (like a translucent menu of some sort on top of the usual icons on the screen) ... not sure how this happened but I know that one of the grand kids used it, turned it OFF, and ON again and this appeared the next day.
The tech at the shop said that he would take care of this as well and that all should be fine once the battery is replaced and the "factory mode" gone.

Once the battery had been replaced, the tablet worked fine and the battery recharged/discharged at the expected rate. No problem there. Except for this darn "factory mode" that jus won't go away.
See attachment for a screen shot ...

Then, in February 2021, the cable (USB to charger/tablet) had to be replaced as well because it was very much in bad shape at the tablet end. The shop provided me with a new, and supposedly high end, cable.

Starting at that point (that SAME DAY as we started using this cable - coincidence?), the big problem materializes as follows:

Once the battery showed low (10% or so, or maybe a bit more or less), we plugged it to the charger (with that new cable). Note: the charger is an OEM Samsung charger (not as "fast charger). We do have a Samsung" fast charger" for the cell phone though).

So, once plugged in for charging, it charged at 100% within a few minutes only!!! Something very weird going on here I thought.

Proceeding to use the tablet for a simple task: Solitaire game and a single Messenger (Facebook) conversation with one of our children. Not long... minutes only.
Then this: the battery charge drops to 30% (plus or minus a few percent) and the tablets shuts off on its own after only 15 minutes!

Back to the shop last week .... they replaced the battery (free of charge). ((NOTE: the tech guy said that the "chip" has been under duress (i.e.: it showing sings of age, so to speak) and that would cause an increase demand on the battery . Really?))

and here is what is happening now:

The battery charges slower than before (expected), but I would say in a "normal time". It doesn't drop as fast as with the first replacement but it is certainly not holding its charge as well as the original (the battery that came with the unit when we bought it 4-5 years ago).
This afternoon, the battery charge showed 40% and suddenly the tablet shut off again (on its own).

I have a detailed log of the past 24 hours + usage of the tablet and the battery performance.
Would its be a good idea to post that her as well?

Can someone explain to me what has happened/happening?
Is it time to dispose of the tablet and get a new one?
Has this something to do with the "factory mode" that I mentioned earlier?

Help please!!!

Model numbers for Note 20

Samsung couldn't have made things more confusing if they tried. First there was the Note 20, then the Note 20+, then the Note 20 Ultra, and apparently some of them could do 5G, but not all. And I've found various model numbers, but websites give little information about how they differ from each other.

Samsung's website is among the more confusing places. Is there any place where I can get all the model numbers, with all the details about each one?

How to increase the height of the SMS text data entry window?

When I am composing a lengthy text message (really anything over about 50 characters), the available height of the tiny little data entry window is way too small and I can't find any way to increase it. I have PLENTY of screen real estate and I'd like a way to temporarily double or even triple the height of the data entry box. Again, I only ever need this when typing a text more than 50 chars, otherwise it's fine. When the amount of text I'm composing exceeds the available space in that little data input, I cannot easily review what I have written, and scrolling up and down within that is a huge pain.

As a software engineer and mobile app developer myself, it seems like the easiest feature in the world to have a little plus/minus icon that would expand or shrink the size of that input. Yet it doesn't seem to exist, and google searches all talk about changing the font size, which I don't need. The same exact issue exists in messaging apps such as GroupMe and WhatsApp.

I am using "Messages" app by Google on my Galaxy S21+.

Is there any way to do this?

Consolidating setContentView(R.layout.activity_main) with ViewBinding

I'm new to Android development and i'm trying to combine the functionality from 2 separate tutorials into one app.

One of them, which i've already implemented, simply uses setContentView(R.layout.activity_main) in order to provide the main activity for it's fragments. The second uses the below code

binding = ActivityMainBinding.inflate(layoutInflater)
setContentView(binding.root)
setSupportActionBar(binding.toolbar)

What is the best way for me to go about combining these 2 different approaches so i don't end up creating errors in the code already implemented

Thanks

One hint of magic - Chapter 1 of Part 3 now available on Google Play Store!

Finally, the first Chapter of Part 3 is now available on Google Play Store! :D
Here’s the link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=callandha.app
I've also added some new features and settings:
-You can now manually save your progress in the settings
-the Character-section has been updated

There is also a new subforum on Reddit to discuss story-related content and more:https://www.reddit.com/r/OneHintOfMagic/
I also sometimes upload additional graphics on my Instagram-profile, if you're interested: https://www.instagram.com/callandha_studio/

This is an interactive text adventure story app, so you can make your own choices to alter the course of the story.
Short overview of the story:
The story is about five girls, who discover supernatural abilities like a special bond to one of the four elements. Laurel, the protagonist, also is repeatingly dreaming about a certain boy, but every time she encounters him in the dreamworld, his face looks unfocused. One day, a shady figure appears in her dreams as well, watching her from the shadows and threatening her. Laurel also encounters four other girls in the real world, who seem to have supernatural abilities just like her, though some of her friends seem closer to the darkness than Laurel might have thought at first gaze. The following days, the five girls meet up regularly and eventually find the way to a hidden school that teaches magic. But not all is as well as it seems. Laurel keeps getting into bad accidents and someday, one of her friends suddenly disappears without a trace. Is this related to the creepy shadows, that lurk around the school? Are they somehow connected to the mysterious school director? The shadows are coming… Can you keep your friends safe from them?

The whole book is parted into six parts and I’m already working on the third part now. A second book is planned as well.

Greetings, Callandha

With a library of hundred icons, you’ll be able to include activities for any part of your routine, from returning to your home, grabbing a bite from your favorite food truck, or for your daily commute, even if it's by helicopter.

A Weather Way also shows you an intuitive seven-day forecast representation. If by the end of the week that cool blue is turning grey, you’ll know it’s time to get your coat out of the closet. If that warm yellow is fading into red, then you can expect a hot day on the beach over your long weekend.
