Microphone extremely sensitive after replacing charging port

Hoping you guys can help. I recently changed my charging port but after putting the cover back on, the microphone has become extremely sensitive. So sensitive it can even pick up any movement on the phone. Even with a case on, it can pick up the slightest movement on the case. I can lightly slide my finger on any part of the case and the microphone picks it up. I don't even need to be near the microphone for it to pick up the sound. It's almost as if I am touching the mic directly but I am not. I've tried tape, foam, rubber around the mic or even between the back cover and the mic area. No luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

How to update the Kotlin Plugin in Android Studio

Hi . I am new to Android development.

My question is:
How can I update the Kotlin Plugin in Android Studio ?

It is not related to coding per se, but concerns Android Studio. If you know a better forum for this matter, please give me a suggestion.

Here a bit of context:
It seems I need to update the Kotlin plugin version that is bundled to the android flutter project.

I did so because the flutter plugin I try to use exploits some features that are not supported by the current kotlin version in Android 4.1.2.

So, in order to update the Kotlin plugin the way it is said in the kotlin doc:
in Android Studio: Tools → Kotlin → Configure Kotlin Plugin Updates,

but it does not open. Nothing happens.

What could cause that ? Is there another way to update the kotlin plugins ?

By the way, if I try to access settings with File →Settings, It's the same: nothing happens. Cannot figure it out why.

I dont know whether it could be more Flutter-related instead, but I ask people there too.

Many thanks by advance.

CellID Showing Tower where my house is?

When I go to the CellID map of cell tower locations, I did not in the past, but now see it showing several cell towers in my town where other cell tower maps only show 2. Also, it shows a LTE tower DIRECTLY where my house sits. I do not have a tower anywhere on my property or near. I don't even have internet service connected at my house. It is always there when I check the map. Why would this be?

Google play services always active in background

My google play services stays active in back ground around 22 hrs/day, draining my battery. I did not noticed this until i mount my second SIM card. Since than two google play services in my app, is this normal ? One of google play services in active in back ground 22 hrs and draining about 10% of battery and the second one maybe active 5 hrs and draining 0.1%,,,
I try to reboot and wipe cahche, i cleared cache on both apps, i also clear all data on both apps, and restarting in safe mode and using for a day make no difference. I also check sync problems, no sync problems
Have i something more to try before restoring to factory settings ?
Thank you in advance

All Things Marvel

hey guys,
so i am a huge fan of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), and i wanted to create a thread where we can discuss all things that are related to Marvel. it does not have to be just the MCU.

i have never been one for reading graphic novels or comics.....but i'm thinking of getting some Marvel graphic novels. there are so many that i just do not know where to start. maybe i'll just pick a charcter and go from there?

also i just finished watching the finale of WandVision......OMG what a way to end it. it was perfect! it is supposed to be a limited series so this MIGHT be it. but never say never with Marvel. they did leave it open for more Wanda and maybe White Vision.......crosses fingers.

Help Keep losing mobile service

I'm gonna lose my mind.

Last week I did a factory reset. Everything was great for a few days. Then as of Monday, my phone no longer connected to mobile network. (I'm on Visible, which is a Verizon MVNO.)

I tried the same SIM card in another phone, and it worked — but a different SIM card did not work in my phone. So it must be the phone, right?

I looked at About phone > SIM card status:
  • Network: Visible
  • Mobile network state: Disconnected
  • Service state: In service
  • IMS reg status: Registered
  • Signal strength: -113 dbm
Network Cell Info Lite app showed the nearest tower and:
  • SIM state: Ready
  • Service state: In-Service

I tried resetting network settings and restarting in safe mode, but that didn't help. Visible said to take the phone in to Samsung repair center.

So I did that. They ran a diagnostic, and said everything was fine. They said try factory reset again.
So I factory reset the phone, again, from recovery mode, wiping with cache several times.
After, service was working. Yay!

But then a few hours later, the battery died, and ipon powering back up, I AGAIN no longer have cell service!
Could it be related to adding a work profile? Enabling dev mode?
Any bloody idea what is happening??

I'm loathe to do another factory reset, as it takes me half a day to set up everything again (Work profile authentication, etc.)

Please help save my sanity.

Thanks!

Firebase from google...

So I log in a second ago, to see what it was though, looks like a build-your-own interface type detail app and measurements too, honestly, I have not done anything that deep at all. So why did it pop into my google mail though? Was it just that to be honest though?

Not looking for help at all, just why did they email me about a moment ago?
That is really odd.

Notifications issue

Running Android 10 and Norton 360 both up to date. Some apps sporadically show high figures of notifications I.e. outlook could show 256, WhatsApp 60 etc. Clicking on app will show that these were incorrect. I have uninstalled and reinstalled some of the problem apps but as mentioned above it is sporadic.

S21 5G March patch disappointment (Battery use)

Let me first state very clearly that the only reason to install any patch is to save battery. A big mistake in my life was installing nougat on my Samsung Galaxy S6. Sprint nagged me for months so one day I did it just to get rid of the nagging. The phone went from drawing 1% an hour idle which is bad enough, to 3% an hour and got steadily worse over time. Went to two different Sprint stores where they reset, reinstalled, etc with no improvement whatsoever. Sprint didn't care in the least and I could not uninstall their useless bloatwear (e.g Voicemail app) whether or not it caused the power drain. It seemed to caused some.

I also have a legacy iPhone 7 which uses from zero percent to about three percent of the battery when it is resting on the counter overnight. Usually just one percent. It uses a bit more when I carry it around unplugged. Apple has always known how to make power efficient operating systems for all their devices. Google does not, that's up to Samsung. Samsung does not know how.

It's obvious that power management is a Samsung marketing decision, not a customer satisfaction priority. The ultra low power mode on the phone allows only 4 apps on the home screen. Why? Simply to cripple it so people won't use it. They make their money having the phone run in full power mode sending back personal information to Samsung and various third parties. They cannot have a phone where the owner is in charge of exactly what runs and doesn't run on the phone.

I have every app set to deep sleep. According to the info on the screen: "Deep sleeping apps will never run in the background. They'll only work when you open them". Every possible app that shows on that screen (after hitting plus) is set to deep sleep. Furrthermore I changed my mobile network setting under connections to 3G only instead of scanning for LTE and 5G. I noticed the scanning in the logs. I have every low power setting turned on. I have turned off what I can possibly turn off.

So now the results: 2% an hour for a few hours, then 18% total in 16 hours, resting on the sofa, untouched other than the first three hours. Not great although a little better than before the patch. This morning I hooked up the cable to look at the logs (that also charges the phone). The logs show the phone waking up every few seconds: SSC_DAEMON: physical_sensor_test_req_msg Sensor type :4, Msg type:11 Sometimes it waits as long as 20-30 seconds before that message. There are other messages after the phone wakes up but that's usually the first one.

I will gladly try any suggestions to fix the power drain problem. Just checked after disconnecting the cable an hour ago: down 2%. About the same as yesterday.
