Help [SOLVED] [Alarm] How to prevent sound?

Hello,

Without an engineering degree, I can't figure out how to prevent the alarm from playing sounds: I only want the phone to vibrate.

Checking the "Vibrate" option and the "mute" icon through the volume button didn't help.

It's a second-hand phone, and the previous owner upgraded the phone to Evolver EvolutionX ROM, so the UI is different from the original Xiaomi Redmi EMUI interface.

Thanks for any help.

PS: What's the meaning of the middle icon (bell with slash in its center)?

How can I stop my phone charging at the recommended 80%?

If, as recommended in several videos I've watched, it's helpful for battery longevity to avoid full charging (and leaving on charge when full) how can I best do that?

I have a Galaxy A13 and as far as I'm aware there's no way to make it stop charging automatically.

My next step was apps that would notify me with a tone when it reached my desired charge level so if I heard it I could unplug, at least I'd be able to stop it fully charging a lot of the time.

I can't find a simple easy to use app to do that. I've tried a couple and they're overly fiddly and/or ad clogged.

Can anyone recommend one or a simple way to do what I want?

Help Can no longer select SIM cards for calls on Motorola Edge 20 Pro

Hi,

I have 2 SIM cards in my Edge Pro 20.

Until now, when I dialled a number via my car radio, a pop-up appeared where I could select the SIM card. I also could set a default SIM card for a contact in the selection menue.

If I had already dialled the number from a certain sim card, then the same sim was automatically selected again.

Recently, the sim cards in the pop-up are no longer clickable. The checkbox to save the selection has also disappeared.

I Need help with Android App Development

Im new to Android Development, and I need to create an app that opens another app like so:

I open App 'X', which then goes and opens App 'Y' and App 'X' closes itself in the background. Any assistance as to how I would make this? I need very specific guidance, because Im very stupid lol.

Pre-written code examples would be greatly appreciated, but a step by step guide on doing this would be insanely helpful.

Galaxy Tab Very Slow on Wakeup

I have had a Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e for a few months and am irritated by how slow/unresponsive it is when it wakes up after not being used for a few hours. Seems like there must be something going on in the background gobbling up resources!

I have found a way round this in that if the first thing I do is "Close All" apps then seems to be OK, even if there are only 3-4 "standard" apps running, like Chrome, Email, Moon Reader.

First question......anybody any ideas how to fix this?

Second question.......are there any tools I can install to get a better idea of what the tablet is doing when it is so slow?

Thanks

How To Make Samsung Use Audio not Video Voicemail

Every time I get a voicemail Samsung notification makes it available directly only as video voicemail. I don't want to download that Samsung app with whatever terms/conditions it has.. To listen to it as audio I have to go to the Contacts, search for Samsung voicemail phone number, and then call it. How can I set so that the notification will take me directly to audio voicemail? That's how it works on my other LG phone.

Samsung Fold & Flip - Wipe Cache Partition, Repair apps & Galaxy App Booster

A few procedures that I personally find helpful after installing an update or if I encounter issues are wiping the phone's temporary Cache Partition and using the Galaxy Apps Booster.

Wiping the Cache Partition is considered best practice after a major firmware update and can solve a lot of issues, such as lagging and apps foreclosing. This does not affect your data and is very simple and easy to perform.

Whilst in Recovery mode you can also select the option to, "Repair apps", in case you are experiencing app issues.
This video will show you how to clear your phone's temporary Cache Partition of any corrupt files and detritus that may cause issues for you. It works on both the Z Fold and Z Flip series devices.

(NB. Connecting your device via USB may only be needed for the international devices)

I also use the Galaxy Apps Booster as well, which can be found in the, "Good Guardians", app in the App drawer of Android 13> on some models.
If you do not have Good Guardians in the App drawer, it can be downloaded from the Samsung Store along with its component apps. The app is available only in the USA, Europe, Vietnam, South Korea, and China for flagship devices. See screenshot

Simply run the Galaxy App Booster. If it is your first time using this app it can take awhile to finish. Subsequent runs are around 4 min's.

You may also wish to try out some of the other apps in Good Guardians

Data transfer from an old phone to another old phone.

My wife's phone is Moto G7 Plus and backed up to her Gmail account.
My phone is Mi 11 Lite and backed up to my Gmail account.

I would like to give my phone to my wife.
Is there anyway I can transfer her phone data to my phone please?

I was thinking, if I factory re-set my phone I can setup her account on Mi 11 from her Google backup. But I don't particularly want to do it that way. The main reason is, as you might know, Mi phones have so much bloatware. I have to through with this long process of getting rid off them.

I hope I made my point clear. Thank you in advance.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 not connecting to wifi after updating Android

I pulled an old tablet out of the closet today hoping to get some use out of it. It's a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, model number GT-P3100. It hadn't been used in years and it had Android Jelly Bean on it, version 4.2 I believe. I was hoping to get software and app updates on it but it couldn't connect to the google play store.

I searched around and found this video on updating to a newer (but still old) version of Android so I decided to try it.

I was successful in following the steps in the video and was able upgrade to Android 6.0.1 via crDroid.

Since I have started up the device with the new OS I have not been able to connect to wifi with it. It is capable of detecting my home wifi network as well as a mobile hotspot from another device. I've gone through all the things I can think of to test this issue. The wifi is working fine on several other devices in the house. I restarted the Galaxy Tab several times, removed and added the wireless network, tried to connect to different networks, and used the option in Settings to Reset Network Settings.

The device seems capable of detecting networks but fails to fully connect to them.

Can anyone offer advice on what to try next?

Thank you

Help Help me choose a budget rugged phone

My fellow mp3 player is beyond repair, and it's sad to go out without music. So i am thinking about replacing it, and my old nokia cellphone on the smartphone.
If nothing bad will happen, i should be able to save around 60$ till the end of this year. That's my budget. But i can save a bit longer maybe, to get better thing. Also maybe prices will reduce next year. But i need to know first how much exactly i need to save, so i need to decide what i want.
Territorially - Ukraine, but i won't buy here cause everything is overpriced here, i will buy on Aliexpress.
Requirements - rugged (protected) since everything falls from my hands, long-lasting battery, preferably external reset button or removable battery. I will not use it for internet or games since i have pc for that, so just music, and occasional calls.
I never owned a smartphone, only helped mother a bit with hers, so idk what else should i look for when i pick one. Maybe something that won't require any additional tweaking?
The models i looked for so far:
1) https://shorturl.at/ehF03
Good looking, good price, terrible battery and even more terrible reviews. Why? Because of the battery?
2) https://shorturl.at/epDY9
Seems like a good thing overall except small battery. Also reviews say that company that makes this phones instals ads and unnesesary thing that's hard to remove, is it true?
3) https://shorturl.at/emHX7
Maybe best option i saw so far (that, or t5 pro that's cheaper and has larger battery), though way over my budget. But maybe it will go on sale next year, or just become cheaper?
4) https://shorturl.at/nrA12
Another option that's way over my budget but it has the excellent battery i am looking for. The downside are it's weight, half of the kg, and since i am quite weak due to disability, i don't know if it will be comfortable to carry such thing with me.
