Hell for two

Recently I attempted to share a file from the old Moto G Play (2021) to the new Moto G Pure. I figured I would use Bluetooth but I guess I figured wrong. Simple File Manager did not show such an option. Instead I went with Nearby Share, which apparently uses Bluetooth. They seem to recognize each other but I cannot force the Pure to connect. I don't know why there would be such a problem. I shared files from the government Blu, which I think would be even lower spec than the Pure. I also shared a file from my friend's phone, the Nord from OnePlus, via Bluetooth as perhaps the only choice. Why is the Pure rejecting the Play? They're both by Motorola, which I think if anything would nake them more compatible.

Have You Every Met A Celebrity Or Someone Famous?

Have you ever met a celebrity or someone famous?

I've met three

I met Nick Bockwinkel at a Gas Station. He was a famous Professional Wrestler many years ago

Bill Clinton approached me downtown and told me he was running for the Democratic nomination for President. He was still the Governor of Arkansas

I was boarding an Air France plane in France. The line was not moving due to a beverage being spilled. I was standing in the first class section. I looked down and Dennis Quaid was sitting next to me. I started talking to him and he was real nice guy.

Can't send MMS

Every time I send a picture or video I get "Message not sent: Service not activated on the network" on my Samsung Galaxy A14 5G straight talk phone. I've called Straight Talk and they haven't been able to help, factory reset, network settings reset, checked app permissions/settings and still can't figure it out. Any solutions or ideas what might be causing this? Thanks for your time.

Help TTS goes from online to offline voice minutes after screen turns off then stops

I have used eReader Prestígio and Speech Recognition and Synthesis by Google to listen to books every day for years and had nothing but positive reviews to share. A few days ago, however, that changed.

After the screen goes off, the TTS goes on functioning perfectly as usual until, a few minutes in, the online/network voice turns into the offline/local voice. This is, quite frankly, an enormous problem for me, since the first is as natural-sounding as it gets for free while the second sounds rather robotic and off-putting. If I unlock my phone and open the reader the natural voice resumes. Like clockwork, a few minutes after the screen goes dark, the voice suffers the atmosphere-shattering change again. If I leave it running it goes on for a few more minutes and then the read aloud functionality stops altogether.

I never had, nor currently have, this problem with my old Oukitel Y4800 (Android 9), which keeps working correctly hours after the screen goes off, but it is happening now with my new Xiaomi Redmi 12 (Android 13), which I just bought as replacement due to irreparable battery issues. I also tried a different phone, a Leeco X829 (Android 13), and it encounters that issue as well.

I have checked the WiFi network, the battery settings, the app permissions, and I can't seem to find what's causing this to occur. I tried running previous versions of both the reader and the engine and nothing changes. I even tried running other e-book readers, such as Evie, and TTS browsers, like T2S, but the issue somehow persists.

Since it's something I use several hours a day I'd truly appreciate if someone would be able to help me solve this.

Really need a way to show running apps and sort out which ones run at startup, RAM full.

People keep telling me Android can't run out of RAM. They're wrong. The OS can't perform magic. It must swap to disk, this is slow. On my old 2GB RAM phone, it runs out, it even takes longer to open the lock screen than it gives me to swipe the pattern, then times itself out! This insane idea of not completely closing apps is a mess, all those things which can notify you: text, email, ebay, they all sit in the background waiting for a notification to hand you. I need to see what's using the most RAM, and not just close it like the cleaner programs do, but manually decide one is too big and tell it not to open at boot, just when I choose to. And there needs to be a way to completely close an app and not have it reopen, like on a computer. Perhaps we need someone to make a whole new interface, like they do with Linux.

S23 Skipping Letters While Typing

I have a.Samsung S23. Over the last month it started skipping letters while I was typing texts, doing searches, using FB messenger. etc. (Basically I hit the key and it didn't type the letter). Sometimes the skipping was frequent, other times occasional). I tried uninstalling various apps, using different keyboards, different texting apps, cleared cache, etc. Nothing worked. Verizon finally sent me a replacement phone and I used Smartswitch to move all my stuff to the new phone. I had this new phone for a week and all was fine. Today it started skipping again. So obviously this is not a phone issue since the new phone is doing it now. Could this be an app? Maybe I should have done a factory reset instead of using Smartswitch, does that make a diff? Where do I go from here?

RCA Atlas 10 pro

I tried setting up my tablet and I guess I set it up so good I locked myself out.

Had this thing for two years and just now set it up as I wasn’t able to use it due to my shit internet-well it’s not shit anymore, just the tablet is now lol

When I set it up I was trying to be smart and made a new Gmail for it and thought I didn’t need to write it down, I can’t remember the email or the pin I set up (4 digits)…

Can someone please help?

Are there any Roms I can put on it to get around the account sign in? I tried to do a factory reset and it needs the new gmail I set up for it that I can’t remember I just want to use it so any help is appreciated.

(Java) Android IR Blaster app

Hello everyone,
this is my first thread so I hope that this will bring me to a solution.
I recently bought a SMART IR Blaster for my phone that connects via otg port. I'm currently making an app to control every
kind of device of all brands. I installed the app made for this IR and works perfectly, so I wanted to decompile it and get some code to implement the IR in my app. I tried to recreate many functions from com.esmart.ir package and made the permission request but it didn't work...
The app is called Ocrustar, available on google play store.
I'll pay 10€ via paypal if anyone can send me a working method, possible in java :)

Running

I don't know if folks remember that I used to run. Well, I did. I ran 4 marathons and various other races like 5Ks, 10Ks, etc. While in my running days, I developed a neuroma in the ball of my foot, which is a thickening of the the nerve between the 3rd and 4th toes, which makes running nearly impossible so I stopped.

So much happened since. I herniated my disc, lost my first wife to cancer, remarried and had a baby who's 9 months. No running, only walking. Well, skip ahead to nowadays. In June I ordered two more pairs of walking shoes from Amazon. They send me one pair of walking shoes and one of running shoes. Mistake? Yes, but no. I wondered if I could run again. I liked the running shoes. I looked it up online and the running shoe had a low heel drop. What does that mean? If you look at typical running shoes (not flats) nowadays, they are higher at the heel, dropping to the toe box. I looked it up and you WANT a low heel drop to take pressure off the ball of your foot, especially for a neuroma. Well, I've been running since June and have entered my first 5K in about 15 years this Sunday!

Another issue is that I really pushed a run yesterday, it was slow and my lungs were tight. I have a new pulmonologist who, I believe, is beginning more accurately to treat my asthma. I started on his treatment (nebulizer) last night and had ZERO usual problems this morning considering it's allergy season.

My run was easy and fast with no chest tightness! I shaved 6 minutes off my 5K time from yesterday. SIX MINUTES! No pain and I felt like I was flying! Additionally, AppleWatch said my V02 Max jumped some points between yesterday and today. After the 5k distance today, I finished running completing 5 miles. I am so happy about this that I had to share what is essentially a fitness rebirth for me. Can't wait for Sunday now!

Thanks for reading.

Steven
