What Software To Use To Remove Cookies

I'm looking for software to safely remove cookies put on my phone (I just went to a dictionary site and it immediately gave notification that it's putting cookies on the phone). My first thought was to use CCcleaner but I saw there is considerable concern about its safety (malware) and also damage its cleaning may do to the phone's files. Does anyone have experience with Avast/AVG Cleaner Pro/Cleanup Boost (I'm already using Avast Mobile Security)?

Trying to make a copy of an Android Studio Project

I'm trying to make a copy of an Android Studio Project. I did this once before in this project and it worked just fine. Basically I'm making a certain amount of successful progress on the project and then want to make a new copy of the project and work on that copy. And in case something goes seriously wrong with the subsequent work I'll have the prior version to go back to.

The problem is that I'm getting an error when trying to make a copy of my current version of the project.

As I had previously done, I right-click on the project, select Refactor, and then Copy Classes.

That brings up a dialog where I slightly change the name (make 03 instead of 02) and I hit OK.

That starts the copy process and it goes through a whole slew of directories and folders but then an error message pops up:

And the copying stops. The copying FAILS.

I check that directory and, indeed there's no such file. But why is it even looking for that file if no such file exists?

I had previously succeeded with doing this kind of project copy. Why is it failing now?

Is there a different way to make a copy of a project?

Help Impossible to unlock my Redmi 9's BootLoader

Hello!
Could you help me?

I have a Xiaomi Redmi 9 that recently blocked the BootLoader thanks to FastBoot because I bought a new one and I wanted to leave it factory. This device had an old MI account that I associated with my phone. When the period of Xiaomi Cloud ended, I deleted it.

To block the BooLoader, I used the following command:
- fastboot oem lock

Now, I decided to give it another chance and thought I'd really squeeze it out. In order to do so, I thought of doing the following:

- Unlock the BootLoader (To be able to Root it)
- Root the device. (To take full advantage)

I enabled developer options, enabled the "OEM Unlock" option, and when I connected the device to my PC in FastBoot mode, I used the following command to try to unlock it:

- fastboot oem unlock

The error that appears to me is the following:

I also tried to perform it with the MI Unlock tool. This was the result:

In this picture, what is obscured is my old MI account ID.

Thank you for your attention!

Android Auto signal strength bug still exists

Pioneer head unit in my Ridgeline. Not cheap ($499 when bought a year ago) has this bug with any Android Auto compatible phone (including the Z Flip 4) that makes it think there is no signal (shows a signal bar symbol with slash through it, and sometimes alternates between that and LTE/5G) even when there is, and sometimes causes issues with apps like YouTube music.

I've tried different cables, and even pull over in the so-called 'no service' area and check the phone, and the phone has 4 bars of LTE at the time. Sadly, Google has not yet fixed this although they have redesigned the UI of the Android Auto interface.

The only workaround is downloading the music on said apps, like I downloaded my SuperMix and then it works. But if it tries to play a song that's not downloaded, it just loads indefinitely, and of course, using Assistant won't work. I do still get text messages read out to me though, but trying to respond just ends with it saying 'I can't find a connection at the moment!'

Help Making a shortcut to playing a specific audio/video file

My android phone will open the camera app if I double press the power button quickly twice. I want to remove this shortcut and also, instead, I want to make it such that, if I long-press the power button, then a file (usually audio or video file, but can be anything) that I chose last time will automatically play. If it's an audio or video file, then it should automatically start playing. Is this possible without making a new file? Is there an app that makes it possible to create this already?

Launching the MediaPlayer

I have tried about 30 or more code snippets to launch the media player and play a mp3 file selected by the content uri. None have worked. They keep getting me tangled up in permissions or other errors. Some don’t even error, just nothing happens. Does anyone have some code to do this that actually works? I would really appreciate some help on this.
Thanks

PS I have the permissions to open the filepicker and select a file, then save its data including the stringUri to a database. I then retrieve the stringUri and convert it back to a contentUri, but I can’t get it to play.

A Fragment that overlaps a control (e.g. button) on the underlying Activity

I have a Fragment that overlaps (entirely) a button control that resides on the underlying Activity in which the Fragment resides.

I know, that's weird, but that's how I want it to be.

The Fragment is initially Invisible when the app starts up. When a certain button is clicked on the underlying Activity that Fragment is made to be visible, using the show() function of the fragmentManager, e.g. :

fragmentManager.beginTransaction().show(theFragment).commit

That works just fine and theFragment does indeed become visible, totally obscuring another of the buttons on the underlying Activity.

So far that's exactly what I want it to do. [ Again, I know that's weird ]

I EXPECT that the underlying, now obscured, button will then be inaccessible to the user. He can't see it, the Fragment covers it up.

HOWEVER, if I actually do a click motion on the place where the button actually resides (hidden, underneath the Fragment), the button actually does get clicked, it's OnClickListener function does indeed get called.

That is NOT what I expected to happen. I figured that if a Fragment obscures some underlying control then that Fragment's UI takes precedence over anything that's beneath it.

Is there a way to indicate that the Fragment does indeed prohibit any underlying controls from being accessed since, after all, the user can't see them?

Yes, I could explicitly disable any and all underlying controls and re-enable them when the overlaying Fragment is again made invisible (hidden). But I'd really like it if there were a way to simply tell the Fragment to take precedence over any underlying controls.

Help Two Android phones got slower at the same time

Hi.

I have two Android phones that at some point earlier this year BOTH started dramatically slowing down to a crawl at random times - e.g. apps take much longer to load (instead of 2 seconds, it may take 10 seconds or more). Sometimes they're both fine, sometimes they both slow down.

My wife and I have the same phone - Samsung Galaxy S9 (Verizon). Good phones for their time, and I didn't feel like upgrading after Samsung announced placing ads on their newer phones (not sure what the status is on this, but that's beside the point).

We're on Android 10, Kernel 4.9.186. Our phones are NOT rooted (I used to root my previous phones but couldn't find a clear answer back then if Knox lock us out on the S9 if I tried rooting them).

They have been working fine all these years, but something changed this year, maybe an automatic update in the background.

Closing all apps doesn't always help with this.

Since this is affecting both phones, I don't think it's likely to be a hardware issue. But I also don't think it's an app we ourselves installed since there hasn't been anything major that we BOTH downloaded together.

I don't think it's the WiFi or the internet - I'm on a Gigabit fiber connection with a high powered gaming router.

So my questions are:

1. How can I find out (without root) what app or service could be slowing down our phones? Is there an app that can help me with this?
2. Is anyone aware of an Android update that Verizon may have released within the last half year that is slowing down phones?

Thanks!
