360 Slim

Selective "cleaning" I see, as per-usual...

Leave the off-topic "my PS3 failed and Sony told me it wasn't supposed to be used as a movie player" posts in a 360 thread, but delete anything bad mentioned about Microsoft's widely acknowledged reliability problems....

OK then...... You must see how biased that looks to onlookers...

I'll easily go for the new xbox 360 for many reasons, no need to buy a wireless adapter anymore, it runs as silent as a ps3, most problems is ironed out with new infrastructure in the xbox 360.

Oh, it also takes less space which is lovely. So now after that, it will be my ps3 that takes most space up. >_>;

I have had my 360 for awhile now, haven't had any complaints except for the loud fan. You barely notice it while gaming though. Anyways, I don't think its worth the purchase if you already have one. If you're new to 360, and you want one, then sure go for it.

I dunno. I might just have to disagree with you personally. The new 360 slim offers some quality upgrades that we don't have in our current gen 360's. For example, the new built-in WiFi (that we should've had ages ago), the Valhalla chip, 250GB removable HDD, better cooling system, and more sleek casing. It makes for quite a reasonable purchase even if you trade in your old 360 to get a few extra bucks back your way.

I didn't include the Kinect-ready aspect because we still do not know how Kinect will play out and I won't place any judgements on it without having used it myself.

kinnect (already on preorder) will work with any 360. so thats no biggie. in the end all 360's play the same online. so im good. if one of mines happen to go, then maybe i will think about it , but for now and the for see able future. im good

Yeah, thats one of my major turning point for it. It both looks neat, but it's pain in the arse paying 700 NOK, around 120USD for a wireless adapter for everytime it goes down. So I rather have a x360 with wireless built in. Seeing how great the new Wi-Fi they have out, I feel the built it will be one solid adapter as well. :)

You've had an issue w/ your adapter dying out? I've never experienced that. What happened exactly?

Two years of heavy use, think the usb cable said good night. Since it was light in the wireless adapted itself, just red. Trying all steps to get it back to work, but so far I'm on TP - when I got for mini x360 gathering I use the black adapter.

My opinions so far on the black adapted is just great, much more powerful than the orginal and I can have my xbox in places where I never had it before. So thats one investment I'm happy about, but I will be even more pleased when I dont need to take it with me anymore when I'm going to game a bit with my friends on their place. :)

I might actually try out the new Xbox 360 Slim. I'm curious to see if I want to get back into console gaming. I need to first check out if there are certain games that I would like to play before hand. I find myself really bored at home when I'm not working and just going around the internet all day.

The 360 Slim looks really badass and have been pondering about getting it.

I think what I will do (retailers hate me) is buy it from Walmart and then return in within 60 or 90 days (I forgot what their return policy is exactly) and then just use Gamefly to try out games. That way in the end, I only pay for Gamefly. When I go back to college, I will not have time to play games. Double major is hectic.

Not a bad idea at all. Only thing I hate about GameFly is that they take FOREVER to send you games.

pretty sure the new black adapter has wifi "n" built into it...

Yep, it sure does. Runs on b/g/n networking. Only thing I hate is that you can't use the nano speeds if you don't have a nano-capable router so, it's practically useless to own the black adapter if you don't own one that is..

if you already have an xbox i see no reason to buy this one, but i sure would have liked to have this option available when i purchased my xbox last fall!

I'm a hardware geek, I like having the newest of one thing. Though I also like to collect certain hardwares as well. But this one for me is more about getting a better xbox360 with added features. :)

Please keep your egos in check and the posts on-topic. This is the second time a mod has had to clean up this thread.... let's not make it third time unlucky, huh?

I'm with you there in that boat, bro.

You know the ONLY difference is Wifi right? And you can buy a $70 Microsoft dongle for that... You also get a fingerprint magnet case too...

-You forget about the bigger HDD
-New case design
-Power supply moved into case
-1 fan instead of two
-I believe the front is suppose to be touch sensitive now too, not sure about that part though.

Yep yep. Granted, the only things that are touch sensitive are the eject tray button and power on button.
