"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

While it is probably the same situation as Lombard St. I know that I would still want to take a look if I was already in the area. Thus, Dallas Hunters, might I suggest a nice walking lunch break?

They make watertight/element proof containers.. slap a droid x eye on it to make it 'more visible'. They have to be out there already.. it's just extremely difficult to find something hidden when the closest clue you have is what city it is in.

haha, lol I know, actually just got a package from Amazon with my Otter Box for Droid Incredible, but I am gonna go out on a limb and say a few people jumped the gun, and went searching without enough info, I think/hope it gets more specific. As far as the people that already "searched" places getting pissed that the phones might not have been placed and will be there at a later time, think about all the people that will get mad when they hear where it is and have to drive couple hours away, only to have some random passer by snag the phone and jump for joy....... think about it. Its just a PR move to get attention and drive hype ( and its doing a damn good job), how can people get pissed at a FREE Phone scavenger hunt, not everyone can win right?

Yeah, but as was stated several times, the thought is that it won't be obviosu tho the random passer-by. It should be obvious to hunters who are aware of the clues to help locate it. It won't be sitting on a street corner waiting for anyone to just pick up.

Well the start your engines hint along with the dealey plaza hint leads me to thinks its in or near the ewing motor oil building....if someone finds it there just remember to thank me :)

I was dumb enough to spend a couple hours driving to TMS and the nearest BestBuy and VZW stores out there, but after that wild goose chase, I'm not sure I have the stomach to drive into downtown Dallas during rush hour.

Edit: Just saw that stanw is going after it. Good luck!

I may be the mahers of the dfw group then, if my girlfriend will let me  I'm sure I can spin it into a date somehow.
Just don't tell her what you're doing. Just go on a nice walk in the knoll. Maybe an impromptu scavenger hunt find "a nut, marshmallow stick, a piece of technology that you can make phone calls from"

I know exactly where it is. Took a little quick thinking but I know for sure. I'm going to wait till the wife gets home. My babies nap means more than the phone. If someone figures it out before I get a chance to get out there then congrats :)

There's a difference between being pissed at having to drive far to get it, and being pissed because you checked the right area but did it before DroidLanding wanted you to.

Hopefully it will be hidden enough that a random passer by doesn't find it.

I would check under the overpass herehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/tommyd79/521842268/

How big IS this place!?!?

I doubt think theres any way it will be hidden under an overpass, unless they really do want a homeless person to pick it up (Dallas has a bit of a homeless problem. I blame Ft. Worth, but that's another thread in another forum)

Your baby can sleep in a child seat in the car. Get going! Haha j/k.

I hear you about being pissed and emotions running high... I almost got busted for trespassing last night searching for one in St. Louis. Luckily I drive a police car, and that trumps security guards. :)

Seriously though, I checked casinos, Busch Stadium, Verizon Ampitheatre... I spent a day looking in relatively generic spots. I skipped the arch, because if it wa son the arch-grounds, there were like 20,000 people there on the Fourth, and someone would have found it. If it's in the arch, I'm not going up there because those little elevator cars gave me such huge claustrophobia the first (and last time) I went in one, that I couldn't do it again... so good luck on whomever looks for it up there!

Just waiting for more clues out here in St. Lou.
