I'll wait till the Epic gets rooted and then decide. If I do get it, I'll keep my EVo and switch back and forth between the 2... but if Palm have an awesome phone in the pipe, then I'll wait for that. I love Web Os.

WebOS FTW! It's a shame Palm didn't have the hardware to match. The Evo's hardware is great and I'm looking forward to what Sammy brings to the table also. 2010 is the year of Android. 2011 is the year of WebOS

I think it's personal preference ...but looking at the Poll EVO is still preferred then the handicapped keyboard.

The Evo is definitely the better looking device but there are other aspects to consider.

Your opinion sir, I think the circles on the keys below the screen on the Evo are the ugliest thing I've ever seen on a phone. Again, my opinion... The Epic 4G not only comes with a slide out keyboard but it comes with Swype (pre-installed) and also the Galaxy S has already been rooted and has a kitchen for whoever mentioned I'll wait until it gets rooted, welcome to two weeks ago, did I mention the kernel was released before the phone?

For the Specs alone, I would pick the Epic over the Evo.

But with Samsung's track record for extended support alone, I think I would go with the Evo. Samsung has dropped support on phones barely 2 years old, and haven't even resolved some issues with these phones.

I'm intrigued by the GPU and screen, but that is it. I will never fall for the paper champion again, it means a lot to me to love the look and feel of a phone and like everyone else said I chose Hero over Moment.
i have see gpu on a few threads, ... processing unit i geuss, whats the g stand for?

I'll be interested to see how the Epic does with battery life. I've heard the Evo is horrible, especially running 4G. I've also heard that Android 2.2 will help battery life out as well. If Epic can last a bit longer, that would help my decision.

Samsung makes a very solid product. I would have to have it about 3 days in my hands to see if its better than the EVO in any way but I really doubt it. I'm not sure I would like the slide out key pad either.

The only thing that keeps me from completely recommending the EPIC over the EVO to everyone is Samsung's track record on updates. It's by far the worst one out of the bunch. I'm REALLY happy with my EVO and pretty confident that it'll keep me going for 1-2 years. I'm also fairly sure that I'd bust that slide-out keyboard... I use my phones CONSTANTLY.

I'd recommend the EPIC over the EVO to any dev, power-user, or gamer who's still waiting for an upgrade and is hell-bent on a hardware keyboard.

After 29 days with an Evo, I returned it to Sprint for a full refund (less $35 restocking fee :() and will stand by to check out the Epic when it comes out (any updates on a release date?). I really liked my Evo, but for the vitual keyboard. Maybe after a LOT of practice, I would get used to it, but I kept using my BB for emails and the Evo for everything else. I figure I will see how well the Epic is received, test drive it a bit and buy it if it is a good as people expect it to be. Worse case, if it is not, I can get another Evo (or wait for the Evo with real keyboard).

You guys who say epic, have you tried the moment, rant, insert name of Samsung phone here?

Given samsungs record, I am leery of any of their phones.
