"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

I don't know when this photo was taken or if it is anything but i thought it might be worth looking into since it is on main st. in dallas, just like the grassy knoll.

Pretty sure it wouldn't be in Union Square. Wayyy too crowded to just have a phone laying around and I mean, that area is huge, so there'd be too much ground to cover. Same would go for the Ferry Building, as both this and Union Square are just too crowded, have too many shops, and are too busy. Powell and Jackson would be a random spot as there really wasn't many clues pointing to that direction. Thats near the Cable Car Museum right? Plus that entire area is almost strictly residential and I don't think VZW wants to risk having people snoop around other peoples property. Lombard and Coit seem reasonable at this point
 
well both being right there in the same place like that. probably just coincidence. Though it is on Main St. in Dallas, as is the Grassy Knoll
 
Hey guys so I live in Clear Lake (South of Houston). It clicked in my head tonight with the most recent clue the droid x is hiding in my backyard at Space Center Houston in the Star Wars exhibit. Ill let you guys know what I find tomorrow.
 
So.... who's obsessed with this? lol

I love a good mystery, but if it requires me to have to spend gas money on something I may or may not get... can't. Lucky for those people who live right in that city though!
 
I'm only somewhat obsessed. Right now, I'm watching a possible location. As soon as that hint comes, I'm running out the door, and flying over there. Obsession? Not really. Day off from work to do what I want? Oh, YEAH!

I'd say its more of a coincidence as I see those X's alot, especially around trees. Whether it means to cut the tree, or has something construction-related.

I believe someone already mentioned that exhibit, and has a friend that is working it. From what I remember, they have not seen anything.

The reason they keep repeating the specs of the phone is because those are its selling points and they want us reading them over and over so then we can go out and spread the word since its been burned into our memory from looking at the twitter page a hundred times a day. Part of the tweets are definitely clues, but the specs are not. This is a marketing campaign above all.

Yes, I am aware of this. In my first post on this Designate I did not refer at all to the spec part but since someone requested me to explain it, i tried. (sounded pretty good too lol)
 
i saw where the 8th phone is in huntsville alabama. I live in birmingham which is about an hour away. I can almost garuntee its at the hunstville space and rocket center
 
Has there been anymore clues about the Huntsville X? I work about 2 miles from the Space and Rocket center.

Maybe but you've got to remember that google earth images are usually older and not accurate. Ads change a lot

Not yet, and we don't know if they'll get more specific than giving the city.

#9 is in the volunteer state [..]

Has anyone explored the idea that #3 is somehow related to George Lucas? It seems like an obvious tie-in. Lucasfilms' headquarters is in the Presidio, which I think ties in to the part of the clue that said "start at the shore and work in". The Presidio is bordered by the Pacific and the bay. Lucasfilms is really close to the bay side. I don't know anything about the altitude. I thought maybe that would mean Skywalker Ranch, but I don't think that's open to the public, so that can't be it.

Also, I think the first post that says #13 is in Michigan is wrong. Stan Lee was born in NYC. Excelsior is the state motto of New York. There's also an Excelsior College in Albany. I thinking DX might be in a ballpark somewhere. "Excelsior" is from the Bullpen Bulletins that Stan Lee used to write. They weren't related to baseball, but it kind of fits.
