Best Buy Mobile employee here! Feel free to ask me questions :)

They gave me two options.
Pay a $90. EFT
or
Order via Customer SVC and have to use mail in rebate instead of instant.

My early update date is Sep8Th, 4 months before actual contract termination.

In my situation it depends on my patience or the money gods. (mostly the money gods):D

Thanks for the info! I am going to a Verizon store tonight and hopefully convince them to give her the early upgrade. I can't see how they would refuse me paying them more money per month with a data plan but I guess i'll find out!

Some people already have them shipped from Verizon, wonder if this will encourage BB to let them out the door a bit early once they have them.

i went inside BB and asked questions

-he said that in BB system dont see that im ready for upgrade

-but he said i can upgrade for one year contract and it will cost 100 more so he think about 300 dollars not bad

-about new line he said it can work just get new numbers

:( My tire decided to explode on me today going down the interstate, so I didn't make it into work. If it isn't already posted by tomorrow I'll try to have the prices up

Its in the ad. That's the clue ;)

Actually things have been in the ad before, but not in the inventory. If its a preorder item then sometimes its possible for just the preorder sku to be in the system. Like I said before, I have to check for myself

I'm reading MSRP of $569 from Verizon on other threads. We need that Best Buy MSRP guys...would be much appreciated!

We went over this a little bit earlier in the thread. Essentially, we can't do a straight NE2 in our system, but if you go and talk to the mobile department, they can apply it to your phone purchase (have to pay the difference first, then we price match it after the sale to match the difference). Just make sure you talk to them about it first, as it's not a normal thing we deal with everyday, and they might have a different way of dealing with it. It's definitly something we can work out though :)

@ Aookay
Having said the above, it doesn't mean that BB has to honor a NE2 right? The store near me will not and I def tried. He said since the verizon store gives a mail in rebate that BB will not match the 149.99 I would pay @ verizon (includes 100 mail in and 50 NE2). I did a little research and sure enough it seems that a mail in rebate is not matched (per BB web site).

It just kind of sucks that some BB stores will honor it and some won't. Is there anything I can do?

PS thanks for all the time u have spent answering questions!

Correct. It depends on the store, as it's not normal policy to do a price match for something that has a mail in rebate. That being said, it's a little tricky because though it is a mail in rebate, it's something on your account. Unfortunatly not all Best Buy Mobiles will apply it. It's one of those Manager's choice thing.

Myself, I would do it and keep the customer at Best Buy, save them some hassle. But I'm not every store. In fact i'm not a store at all, I'm a human.

hmm.

I just cancelled my Dinc replacement order today. So can I preorder a Droid X from Best Buy? I am eligible for a Verizon upgrade.

Thanks

So i preordered the X at my local best buy on Sunday and they said that I was number 50 do you think that ill be waiting awhile or will this be something completed within the next few days after launch?

Aookay,

I need your advice... I have a Droid X preordered from my local Best Buy (2nd on the list!!). I currently have an Incredible that I am going to give to my fiance when I bring her onto my family plan. I am going to port her number over from tmobile and put it on my Incredible, then I would like to transfer my current line onto the new Droid X. The problem I have is that she will be out of town from the 14th through the 16th. Can I just have best buy setup a new line and port her number over at a later time? Would it be better for me to just wait until she is back before I pickup and setup the new phone? What would you suggest? I don't know if I can handle having my Droid X sitting at the store, knowing I can just head over and pick it up. :)

Wow - when I check this weekend they said only 6 people preordered (i order 3 or 4 days after preorder was announced and was #1). Just doesn't seem to be much interest in boston.
