If this is a simple root and fix for 1.47 update why are there 75+ pages of people having trouble getting it to work?
Is there a simple one step root that works every time without 4g problems, fixes, camera not working , etc?
I do not have the time to read 75+ pages of fixes to get what few benefits that rooting gives.
Am I missing something?

I'm with you mate. I'm happy with the stock EVO until I see tons of posts on how gr8 any mod is. Nothing wrong w the device as it is right? Ok there are a few things like wtf is sprint nascar doing on my phone
took me 15 minutes and i've been running fresh 0.5.3 for the past week or so. no issues. no problems. my battery idle life is a ton better as well.
biggest benefit for me is having wifi tethering.
all the custom tweaks here and there are just icing as far as I'm concerned.
So everythign is working for you preperly? I thought the camera & radio had issues with that rom and still a couple other small tweaks. If it is running without issues i will try it. Currently using stock updated root rom.

I did this new simpleroot and subsequently installed Fresh 0.5.3. All worked great as long as you pay attention and follow instructions.
If you get an error doing during the flash hack step, do that entire step over again! Step 4 will not work if you try to proceed after a flash hack error.
If you get an error on Step 4 where it just sits there saying starting part 2, it's because you didn't notice the error in step 3. Back up and do step 3 again.

I didn't get any errors while downloading, everything went smooth but after I installed Fresh 0.5.3 4g does not work, my battery life sucks now before simple root I had a good 1 1/2 of battery and today i had 5 hrs of battery and it was dead with minimal usage, checked email 3 x no app DL's or anything, I just want it back to stock hahah

just kidding. it took over 6 hours and maybe 40 factory resets.
i had htc sync 2.0.35. saw people had success with 2.0.31 so i uninstalled the first and installed the second.
i was using my main SD card at first, which has a ton of crap on it, so I put in the 8gig one that came on it, deleted everything unnecessary, then re-attempted step 1 to push the files. everytime it failed, i would manually delete the 6 files it pushed.
After step 2, i got this message every time I tried:
basically I would clear the browser, turn it off and get the "terminated blah blah" message.
on step 3, i let the flash load fully, then refreshed it and let it load fully, and instead of backing out of it or hitting home, i directly hit step 4 while leaving the browser open...which I had done before per advice on an XDA thread. However, before the flash even loaded the first time, it repeated the "refresh or reload the page...completed" message twice for an inexplicable reason. It was this time that it worked.

btw i should point out that my 4G is broken. I don't know where along the line it came. This is the order I did it:
The area of town im almost always in has no 4G, so when I read about the 4G woes people were having, I drove into the 4G area to test where I had previously gotten strong signals. Nothing. Proceed with caution.
Since Im never in 4G, I think im content to sit without it for a while and see what pops up on XDA. I'm really enjoying the smoothness and battery life of fresh rom, my only gripe is that I cant seem to get swype to work. I'd be far more irked if they would flip the 4G switch in my area already!
