"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

No complaints. Just peeved that I didn't trust myself. The guy who got it was a hunter, same as me. He just got there first. Damn it.

Well I was stuck my hand in the cubby hole where the droid was hidden in Houston literally 2 seconds after the guy that one it did, for what reason I dont know. I guess I thought there might be a second one. Luckily Verizon was nice and gave me a $50 gift card for my efforts. But the phone looks amazing and you CAN see the screen fine in daylight. Happy hunting to the rest of you guys/gals.

My friends brother works at the verizon store in downtown Seattle. I asked him for info and he said "I can't tell you anything, sorry bro... this branch doesn't even have it, I think it's the U-district one"

O.O

Well just got back from the location in Houston. I was about 5 minutes too late. I went to Herman park as soon as I got the first clue. Looked around there for 30 minutes and when the cords came in, I dashed to my car and sped downtown.

Its a shame I didn't get the phone, but I had fun and I have my appt with VZW at 9 AM on Thursday. Can't wait!

Yeah I was too late for the gift card. I THOUGHT PARK WAS CODE FOR RELIANT PARK! LOL fail.

But yeh, I got a chance to play around with it. It looked really good. The size wasn't too big like I thought it would be. The UI is really clean. Just an amazing phone.

When they said hit in the park or whatever I knew it could only be Minute Maid or Discovery and I went to Discovery first. The crazy thing is when they posted that last clue before the coordinates I was at my job in Clear Lake and just up and left and drove 120mph to downtown and somehow would have been the second one to find it. I cant believe I even came that close tbh.

So all the complainers on this thread - did you want Moto/VZW to just give away 20,000 X's because you post on this or any other message board?:confused: Just like the lottery or gambling, your luck varies.

That is true but if they had stuck to the original format of giving clues I guarantee more of us form this thread would have had a phone and not just someone who was close by.

Whoa lol. That is crazy.

Yeah I work in Sugar Land and as soon as they said Park, I was thinking Discovery Green or Reliant (no idea how Minute Maid never popped into my head). Then I said Discovery Green would be too obvious so I went to Reliant (main reason being because I know there is a VZW corporate store there).

I am so tempted to dump AT&T, sell my Liquid and buy this. Going to be a tough decision.

Hahaha maybe a little crazy. I was just determined to get it since my original droids screen got destroyed on the 4th and have been phoneless since then because I couldnt justify paying 80 bucks for my insurance deductible to get a phone that I would only use for a week since i have already pre ordered the dx

And I missed it by 15 seconds. Couldn't find the downstairs in time at sonny bryant's. After running 7 blocks from the IRS building where I parked. The Grassy Knoll was a perfect clue, sonny bryants was only about a block and a half away. Had I parked where I did last time I went down there, I would have been the first in and no one would have had a chance to look.

The Gift Card is $50?!?! Not 20? Mine did not have any value written on it so I don't know how much it is... Is it really $50?

I was thinking Sam Houston Park, so I was almost in the area. However it took me forever to find a place to park since I don't drive downtown a lot and the have a ton of one way streets that screw you up. I didn't even get a giftcard :*(

oh yeah i didn't even realize there was no value on the card, shit i shoulda asked how much it was for....i thought it was 20

The guy that handed it to me told me it was for 50 hopefully he wasnt lying to me. I thought that was a really nice gesture by Verizon to hook up the other hunters with something too. It made my drive for the phone worth it.

I was a couple minutes (maybe 5 :P) after Korietsu. We both got giftcards out of it, though I dunno about the above poster who got a $50, mine's only 20. The phone is gorgeous though, but the camera's a little wonky, there's a definite delay with taking a picture. Other than that, it was fun to be a part of something, know what I mean?

Yeah, morbid said he got there within 5min... I guess it was hidden inside somewhere.
When he walked in the dude had ALREADY signed his waiver and was handing it to the rep. AND all of the GCs were gone already and all waivers signed...?! WTH?!
He says it was found at 1:50, but morbid says he was there at 1:49..................................................

If all of the giftcards were gone, then morbid didn't get there first, because K and I got GCs.
