Root Unrevoked for Incredible (Recovery reflash tool/Easy root method)

HOLY BALLS!!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Was never able to root with the card/usb plug timing methods, but this worked first try (on the third computer I attempted it on :p).

Seems to have worked but I'm not sure how I go about removing City ID and the like since I never had to use the cmd prompt. Anyone know?

Please use the search above, this has been covered numerous times and can easily be found. Thanks.

Man I must be unlucky I can not get this to work either. I followed the instructions enabled USB Debugging and it just says waiting for bootloader or waiting for Hboot to be ready.

Am I supose to be selecting something from the phone, or am I just not waiting long enough (about 2-4minutes)

You need to download and install the HBoot Driver package from Unrevoked (I think the tool root/flash tool mentions this when it gets to the point you were at)

make sure you install the drivers that comes in the download

There is an .htm file in there that has some directions for the driver install.

no dice here either, just hangs on the pushing recovery image screen.

Should phone be turned on and in disk drive mode with usb debugging, charge only, off, in recovery mode?

help help plz lol

Mine was set to charge only with USB debugging enabled and it worked first try. Make sure you download the HBOOT drivers and follow the steps before trying the root.

Forgot about the drivers.
Got the drivers all installed correctly tried again looked like everything was going perfect then it says "communication with phone interupted"
and I get a gree screen labeled clockworkmod recovery v2.0.2.4
with the following options
reboot system now
apply sdcard update zip
wipe
wipe cache
install zip from sdcard
partitions menu
advanced

Mine says communitations with phone were interupted try again?

exactly what i end up with

did you get an black screen with green writing on it also?

I'm thinking this computer is the problem it's a community computer (win7) at my complex . I will try this again on my laptop (which I left at work) or my work desktop

Yup. Im with windows 7 too.

The black scren with the green writing is the custom clockworkmod recovery, so it sounds like the process actually worked.

Wherever you installed the program, look for the file called hboot driver and click it. It should give you a guide on how to install the drivers. If you don't get the Android 1.0 and get something else instead, uninstall drivers and check the uninstall software for this device. Should be step by step after that.
