If the iphone is so good why can't the 3g record video, why is it the iphone only started sending massages like 2 month ago. Why is it it did not have cut, copy and paste since 3,0. Why is it you cant customize its home screen? I could keep on going. Should I?

By the way I think you can define better. Of course you can. Can it play Youtube better than the iphone, is the keyboard easier/accurate, is wifi better, plays iplayer better....?

Whether you like it or not the iPhone is a very useful benchmark - if people are not trying to beat the iphone in every respect then there's something going wrong.

when i was about to get my htc hero, i told one of my friends and they were like "a what?!" ... so i had to explain it, which to be honest, i didnt mind.. and he said i should get an iPhone.. to that i answered, "i dont want to follow the crowd, and actually the htc hero is better". I got a response.. but i was able to explain the hero can have a background, and however powerful the iPhone is, it cant do this simple thing. I can also run multiple apps at once, the iPhone cant do this either.

The response? "If you get two iPhones and bump them together it sends the contact information from one iPhone to the other." Big deal. But, android can now do this, with an app called "Bump". So there we have it.
I also like being the only one in my entire school who owns a hero that i know of. people just dont know android's potential.

Thats the main point, anyone that says to me the iPhone is better either haven't heard of a droid, or have but try to use it as a normal phone or an iphone, using it either of these ways limits so much potential.

It can't be helped though, iPhone has taught people that certain things are not possible, when Android opens the door so to speak.

Try pointing out the iPhone's many shortcomings on on an Apple forum - and perhaps throw in a provocative statement (we cant use "poor mans Hero so why not suggest an iPhone shows" lack of individuality") - and watch the Troll accusations flood in there as well! Why does this surprise you?

You guys need to call down, he was just frustrated with the phone, wanted to know why we like it, and think it superior to the iPhone. There wasn't anything wrong with his original post. Thread starter, check out my base post.

To reiterate, I believe the hero a much better phone because I can do so much with it, its open and free, no point in time have I ever felt locked down by it, I felt this feeling after 5 mins with iPhone.

And I stand by the following: if someone thinks the iPhone a better phone, they are not using anywhere near what the hero is capable of.

Youre being disingenuous, it's not the question you asked but the way you asked it. Suggest you read your first post again - if i went on an apple forum and posted something of that tone about the iphone i'd probably get banned withing minutes for... oooh guess what... trolling.

Personally i find it pathetic that people get worked up about a phone on either side. It bores me to tears reading the same old crap on both sides, so thanks for stirring it all up yet again. Great. Thanks. Really.

Ye sure at the end of the day because of the crappy battery life but during the day the Hero saves our lives from the otherwise world of apples and blackberries.

Later on, on hearing a tune as my ring tune my mate asked me to send him it over Bluetooth - no problem I thought. Even my old 4yr old Sony can do that....Oh....Bugger...

Perhaps in about 2 years time Android will have moved on from the stone age...

I have an iphone 3g

The only thing I miss is the app store - which is being fixed in the next release of android.

iPlayer works better, but bear in mind that was developed with the BBC, the android app was made by an end user.

As for a malfunctioning decibel app, take it up with the dev, not the hardwares fault that the program is a lot of crap.

For me it came down to customisation - got sick of looking at the same tired screen for 2 years, and all the smugness associated with anything apple. A comedian I seen recently said: "to people with iPhones - you own it you didnt invent it."

I find it does many things better than the iphone as well, like integration to social networking and how everything syncs up. bear in mind its still a new platform. Go find an iphone with the version 1 software. No app store no nothing it was very limited functionality wise. Of course everyone forgets that - everyone expects any competitor to the iphone to be able to better it on all fronts. Its impossible. The phrase iphone killer is meaningless. Competition is healthy. The only real gripe I have with my hero is the keyboard - it annoys me. The iphone keyboard is better.

If you are disappointed with the hero and you think the iphe is better then get an iphone, you'll be happier! If like me you want to be in control of your phone then stick with it.
