Root [ROM]Leaked Stock 2.2 with Sense [EVERYTHING WORKS!!]

Unofficial update process:

Internal building and testing
Internal sample testing (give out incredibles wth the update to employees to test)
Leaked beta test (what we just got)
Leaked beta v2,3, etc as needed based on results form the first leak
Official update gets pushed.

My guess too. Makes the most sense, but the release is still appreciated :)

People are reporting that Google Voice is missing from the rom. Perhaps not a later test rom- if true. Summary (edit: some of the issues reported- not all).

1. Some Google apps missing
2. Some market apps missing
3. Mail account problems
4. Some apps will not update

All of these issues would suggest the rom is from a test rom and not the official release for publication.

Even with the PSX game improvements, I will probably hold off for the real deal.

The market probably hasn't been updated on their side yet. It takes info from your phone and probably doesn't yet recognize the phone. It'll come around, just like it did for the leaked OTA update.

I'm holding off too. Not worth it for me just yet. This will probably drive me to root, though, to get rid of crap like VZNav.

I've always had to install google voice from the market, it was never included in a ROM? Or are you thinking of Google Talk? In which case, it is in.

Most of the issues people are having are just not following the right procedure or don't know the procedure to flash a custom ROM, which I posted earlier. It's not that hard, but people still don't do it.

+1

Google talk was included, Google Voice has always been something you need to download from market.

My problem with google sky map.....

I restored it from Titanium Backup and it works. I never updated because it said the only change was Move to SD Card which I didnt need.

Tried to update and now it says it cant update.... But I can still use prior version..

This.

Installed last night. Restored all apps and data from MyBackup Pro. Installed Titanium Backup. Restored apps and data that were not restored with MyBackup Pro.

Everything works perfectly - no problems at all other than some apps not showing up in the Market, but that is expected. Not a problem if you have a recent backup with Titanium Backup.

My dInc was rooted, but still had the old radio. To update, I did the following:

1. installed prior RUU to go back to stock from sdcard.
2. installed OTA Radio from sdcard
3. Rooted with unrevoked 3.1 (IMPORTANT -install hboot drivers!!!)
4. installed froyo from sdcard

Restored all apps from prior titanium backup (except Google Sky -More on that in a sec). Been working perfectly. Camera color quality appears better, bettery life appears to be MUCH better. Web's working great, Mail's working great (Gmail), Yahoo messenger and mail are working great. A lot of little updates (facebook updates HTC Calendar widget, Friendstream updates perfectly so far) and a lot of major speed upgrades.

Only issues so far:
SetCPU is not working (understood, they'll have to update)
Google Sky will not install. (google maps 4.4, google earth, installed fine)
Sound out of the earphone appears to cap off at a much lower range. High notes aren't as high. Sounds fine as a phone, but when running slacker through the headphones to the car stereo, it sounded "off".

Everything else (GPS, camera, wifi, sharing, FLASH, etc) appear to be working great.

can someone please help? i renamed to update.zip and there was a file called update on the root of the sd card. i didnt want any problems so i deleted that after i moved the update.zip to the sd card

it says
E:Failed to open \sdcard\update.zip (No such file or directory)
E:Signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

Anyone else having trouble with their mobile network? I'm using the Altel/VZW Hybrid PRL but I notice the 3G network not working and when I goto look at it, it's contantly trying to start up. If I shutdown and reboot it will start working again.

You need to install the leaked OTA update
Then run Cryogen's Reflash tool v3.X
This will install a custom recovery system, and you can load the new leaked 2.2 update through that.

After I got done with updated 2.2. Rom I had to call *228 and option 1 to reprogram phone

Anyone else notice 3G shuts down when you're connected to a WiFi network? It comes right back for me as soon as I drop the WiFi. That should be a battery saving process I would think.

I'm going to assume you installed this over an Unrooted Stock phone (whether you were rooted before or not doesn't matter, you had to get back to being unrooted).

If so, the update applied, and you're in the bootloop some people get. Take out the battery, put it back in and reboot. It should show the HTC bootscreens and back into stock 2.1 w/ the new radio.

I've done that multiple times. Not completely newb. No matter how long I let it sit it wont change. And if I try and go into recovery it does nothing.

got it. had to rename to update not update.zip

Reposting the above comment b/c more people are bound to have this issue. Depending on your Windows settings, if you name the OTA "update.zip" it will be viewed as update.zip.zip cuz it tags on an extra zip since it's a zip file. So just call it "Update" if you encounter the failure to recognize.

I had this problem due to having "hide extentions for known file types" checked at:
Explore > Tools > Folder Options > View

Uncheck and it becomes a non-issue.

The posted instructions worked great here. The built-in tethering app seems to be Verizon-aware, though (ugh), and barnacle/wireless_tether don't work :/

Does anyone know how to remove bloat? I was originally rooted and moved all the bloat into a folder but now that I unroot, reroot with the leaked 2.2 I still get the same bloat back. I tried running the old commands but no luck.

I tried "mkdir /system/app.disabled" i get an error that says "read-only file system"

Then

I tried the following "mv /system/app/CityID.apk /system/app.disabled/" and get "Not a directory"
