Root [ROM]Leaked Stock 2.2 with Sense [EVERYTHING WORKS!!]

I'm not sure if this is just an app problem. But now when I go into my System Panel "system" app, ALL of my apps are in the background, and nothing is cached for me anymore.

Anyone have an idea?

Successfully got Android System Info, Barcode Scanner, Magic 8 Ball, Pandora, PicSay, Pixel Zombies Live Wallpaper, Root Explorer, Scanner Radio, Titanium Backup, and Wifi Analyzer to move to SD. Have a ton of apps that have the ability but fail to move for some reason, loving the freed up memory :)

Aside from not getting them nuked on a wipe, doesn't 2.2 allow the rest of that internal 8gb to be used for apps now?

The posted instructions worked great here. The built-in tethering app seems to be Verizon-aware, though (ugh), and barnacle/wireless_tether don't work :/

Use wireless tether (free) on the market, and there's an android.tether folder you have to put on your SD card (google it). Works perfectly as an Access Point.

OK, this is bizarre:

I installed the update last night on my DINC and today I received this email. The only problem is I don't have a Nexus One. Is this just an error by Google or is this ROM somehow tied to the Nexus One and has some Verizon stuff loaded on it?? It wouldn't make sense unless this is just an error...I guess I am not advanced enough to understand this, just thought I would share

Does anyone know how to remove bloat? I was originally rooted and moved all the bloat into a folder but now that I unroot, reroot with the leaked 2.2 I still get the same bloat back. I tried running the old commands but no luck.

I tried "mkdir /system/app.disabled" i get an error that says "read-only file system"

Then

I tried the following "mv /system/app/CityID.apk /system/app.disabled/" and get "Not a directory"

Make sure you've mounted /system/ in clockwormod.

just curious, what are you removing in this script?

mv /system/framework/com.cequint.platform.jar /system/app.disabled/
mv /system/framework/com.cequint.platform.odex /system/app.disabled/

My dInc was rooted, but still had the old radio. To update, I did the following:

1. installed prior RUU to go back to stock from sdcard.
2. installed OTA Radio from sdcard
3. Rooted with unrevoked 3.1 (IMPORTANT -install hboot drivers!!!)
4. installed froyo from sdcard

Restored all apps from prior titanium backup (except Google Sky -More on that in a sec). Been working perfectly. Camera color quality appears better, bettery life appears to be MUCH better. Web's working great, Mail's working great (Gmail), Yahoo messenger and mail are working great. A lot of little updates (facebook updates HTC Calendar widget, Friendstream updates perfectly so far) and a lot of major speed upgrades.

Only issues so far:
SetCPU is not working (understood, they'll have to update)
Google Sky will not install. (google maps 4.4, google earth, installed fine)
Sound out of the earphone appears to cap off at a much lower range. High notes aren't as high. Sounds fine as a phone, but when running slacker through the headphones to the car stereo, it sounded "off".

Everything else (GPS, camera, wifi, sharing, FLASH, etc) appear to be working great.

So, if we are rooted and have the OLD radio, we'll essentially be wiping the phone to return to stock?

Meaning, I should run a Nandroid and Titanium backup?

Yes. You can't install the new radio from a rooted phone, so you have to "unroot" and the only method to do that is to RUU back to a factory image. Erases everything.

Also -- the Froyo rom needs a full wipe anyway. You just don't have to do a double backup! :)

can anyone *228? It won't update for me.

also anyones password security lock working? i set it but it lets me unlock the phone without asking for the pin

asked a few times earlier but this thread exploded so i'm not sure if anyone saw it...can someone that has sling player and has installed the leaked 2.2 confirm that sling player works? it's one thing that i absolutely need and the reason i went back to stock from CM6...

Does anybody know how to install this froyo leak from the SD card? I cannot install unrevoked3 on my work PC due to admin rights.

Thanks

First post, but I have been lurking around here and the xda forums since I first got my DINC just after the release date so please do not think I am a complete noob.

I'm not sure what all this talk has been about having to fully wipe your phone to use this method to upgrade to 2.2, I did it just fine without having to back-up or re-install anything. All my previous apps still seem to be working fine and dandy.

First of all let me mention that I was running everything up to the beginning of this process COMPLETELY stock
2.1 update1.
NO leaked OTA.
NO root.

For those of you that may want Froyo and running stock like me but feel that having to re-install all your apps isn't worth the trouble here is the method that I used(just because this worked for me DOES NOT mean it is guaranteed to work for you. I will not be responsible for any loss of applications or damage done to your phone if you decide to follow this guide):

1. Install the leaked OTA - instructions found at Install lastest OTA with 100% working root 2.0 radio/720p video/hboot .79 - xda-developers

2. Root the phone with unrevoked - unrevoked3 recovery reflash tool, v3.1

3a. Place the leaked ROM (.zip) file on to your SDCARD from here [ROM]Leaked Stock 2.2 with Sense [EVERYTHING WORKS!!] - xda-developers

3b. Reboot into recovery

4b. Use clockwork mod that is now on your phone from rooting to install 20100727_stock_froyo_signed.zip that you previously placed on the card

5. Reboot

6. Wait for your phone to power cycle a few times

7. Enjoy ice cold Froyo + Sense UI with all the goodies you already had on your phone!

I assume this method would work for everyone, just RUU back to stock 2.1 before you start.
Again let me mention that this method worked great for me but that does not mean it will work for you!

Good luck everyone! :D

I was already rooted with the OTA and you're right, I installed via Clockwork, rebooted(longest reboot ever BTW), and had Froyo with all my settings and apps in place. It was simple and fast. I mentioned this earlier and asked if anyone else experienced this, but you are the first I've seen.

Oh well, I'll take it.
