Nice going Verizon!

this has nothing to do with the Incredible. it states that it is about the original Moto Droid.. and that they are being blocked because of a lack of support for the phone...

You know that this article is a lie in the second sentence:
"While Verizon Wireless is set to push out the latest version of the Android operating system to Droid users starting this week".

You just did what they wanted you to do, post a link to their article on a popular forum.
That is what these articles are doing, they are trying to provide some shocking rumor so that everyone will show it to all their friends.
By the way why would verizon ever offer free tethering?
I am sure that they already have tens of thousands of people paying them monthly for it why would they all of the sudden say here it is for free.
Maybe when they stop being the most popular provider in the nation.
Anyway, this is way better:

I was aware that it was an article about the Droid, but I also see this possibly pertaining to the Incredible at some point in the future. Really just thought the Dinc crowd would get a kick outta this. BTW, loving my rooted Dinc with FREE wireless hotspot.

They (Verizon) already do, so that they can try and move their inventory of Palm Pre's that nobody wants otherwise.

PS: PDANet works great for me over USB and Bluetooth, and all those rooted users out there have even more options.

Or just change the Dun Nai settings yourself.

From what I understand, the Droid wifi controller firmware will not allow the type of tethering that Verizon uses in its paid service. Texas instruments needs to upgrade the firmware for it to work. This has nothing to do with the ad hoc tethering that rooting allows.
