Root White Widow

I'm a little confused. Is JIT enabled or disabled by default? The instructions say both. The first post says disabled, but the next post says disabled. I there a way to tell in the settings which it is?

From what I read, JIT is enabled by default.

"Ask and ya shall receive. Due to the overwhelming amount of requests for JIT, JIT is now enabled by default. here are patches to turn them on/off. I got the basic idea from Zach.Xtra
Flash these from recovery, wipe, reboot.

Jit On. <---JIT is on by default, but if you turn it off and would like to turn it back on, flash from recovery, clear dalvk, reboot.

Jit Off. <---Flash from recovery, wipe dalvik and reboot. Will turn off JIT."

That's kind of what I was thinking as well. Have you played with turning it on and off? if so, which seems to be the best?

on 4.6, JIT is off by default.

JIT only makes linpack scores higher in my opinion. very unreliable and many reboots. i find it much faster with JIT off

Yes but the "Features" section in the first post was changed when 4.6 came out:

JIT disabled by default. To enable, flash one of the patches pushed to your SD card during installation.

its off, i just didnt edit that part when i released 4.6
just as an FYI, i dont use JIT. i think it causes instability, but its up for you all to decide

no problem. i updated the OP too.

im almost always "around", but i usually leave it up to you all to answer questions. if theres something you all can help with i step in.

been kinda busy building this guy a custom rom :P
then im gonna get back to the ubuntu project, i may release an ubuntu rom one of these days :D

I figured I'd post on here since I'm running white widow, I was wondering if anyone knew of a MM theme with a glass or smoked glass status bar that erik work with the eris and our rom. And if anyone knows how to get the "predator" battery indicator for MM to work on the eris, I don't really understand how to go into the framework and make it work.

It appears that ap2SD is disabled by default. If so, can I flash this without partitioning my SD card? I'd like to give it a try but don;t want to mess with my card.

No, you must partition your card with this ROM. Otherwise, you won't be able to install any apps.

I've searched every way I can think of and I can't find anybody who's having this problem. I think it must be a software issue but if this isn't the right place to ask this question, let me know.

I've been running WW for about a week now and I love it; it's fast and much less frustrating than stock.

However... is anybody having issues with the dialer eating the battery? Currently my battery usage looks like this:
Dialer 97%
Cell standby 2%
Phone idle 2%

When I click on dialer, it says this, which wouldn't seem to be enough to eat the battery like that:
CPU total 14s
Data sent 54.17kb
Data received 30.10kb

When I look in Spare Parts, it doesn't seem like there's a runaway process in the dialer that's keeping the phone from sleeping - my awake time is 6.6%, which seems low enough, and under "partial wake usage" the dialer is way down at the bottom. In fact, the only place the dialer shows up bigtime in Spare Parts is under "sensor usage," where it tells me that the dialer has been using the sensor the entire time since I unplugged the phone 7.5 hours ago. In contrast, Android System has used the sensor for 46 minutes.

I've only had one phone call today, that lasted less than a minute.

Any ideas? I'm really frustrated.

In the settings is there an option to change the color and transparency of the status bar? I thought I remembered there was a lot more options in spare parts to begin with but they disapeared when I started adding themes, and I would prefer not to flash it again just for it to to not have the settings and me have to get all my themes back again.

I'm still having a problem with my calendar. I get FC messages a lot now for the calendar.storage app. Should I just wipe and flash the ROM again? Or are there any other options to just re-load my calendar app.

id wipe. something your doing is messing with the calendar.

just wiped and re-installed and it seems to be working now. I re-installed the same zip I used before. Has there been an update for MMS? Should I download WW 4.6 again and flash? Also, I can't get my clock speed to go above 710 mhz. Do I need to flash a different kernel?

if you used the tupdate then your max is 710. you can try using conaps kernel if you would like

Ive been having a minor problem with ADW since using this ROM. Not sure if it is an ADW problem, or WW, I think I found a solution I thought I would share in case somebody else has been having the issue.

About once per day ADW has been slowing to a crawl. I just reset ADW (takes about 20 seconds literally) and the problem is solved. Yesterday I went into the market and downloaded the most recent version of ADW and have been using that instead with the exact same setup and have not had any issues with it. Hopefully it won't keep happening, but so far it is quick and snappy.

Thought I would pass this along.

Let me know how using the latest ADW works for you. I installed the latest version also, because I wanted to install themes, and when I rebooted the phone it reverted back to the old version.

ive actually removed ADW and replaced it with LP on my phone.
I wasn't sure if removing it from WW would cause problems since it is built into it. How would i remove the old version of ADW? Just uninstall it like a normal app, or do I have to use sdk?

Ill reboot and let you know...crossing my fingers
Just rebooted and the new ADW is still there! Ill stick with this unless it starts getting super slow, if that happens I may try launcher pro. I like this ROM too much to give up on it. Hopefully this will keep the phone happy. I hate flashing new ROMs and spending time getting it set up.

if you use root explorer or the sdk you can remove it just fine. since its a system app, you cant uninstall it through th normal uninstall apps
