Root Frankenrom is alive.

anyone having problems connecting to a PC via bluetooth?

mine says it's paired but not connected and I can't figure out why

Is anyone else missing the "Alert Sounds" for time timer or alarm clock? I can use my default ring tone for the alarm clock, but my timer has no sounds...

Is there any way to add them?

I think that's what I would do, good luck and I hope that fixes it for you.

That could very well be, there are posts everywhere about blown speakers.

Those thoughts did cross my mind, especially with how loud the boot animation is compared to other things I've played on the phone.

Of course it could also be the format, bitrate, and encoding they use in the boot animation sound. It's most likely tuned to give the best sound possible on startup. My MP3's all sound different because I don't normalize so some are softer and some are extremely loud, though I never turn the speaker to full cause I don't want to blow it. I'd rather hook to stereo or ext. speakers.

I seem to have all my tones (both the default and my custom). You can create a folder on your sdcard named notifications and put your sounds in there. The default sounds can be found in the /system/media/audio/notifications/ folder.

Its all the other audio on the phone that sounds crappy now, ones that are the same files as before on the old roms so the same encoding bitrate etc. The boot animation was pretty loud, otherwise I don't run the speaker up very high.
Hopefully tonight I can try a wipe and reinstall the ROM and see if its the speaker, or something that went wrong during the install. *crosses fingers*

Good luck. I hope it is not a hardware issue. How does the audio sound through headphones? If you still have a problem with this ROM, you could always restore your nandroid from before to test (you do have one right?). If the audio still sounds bad, I'd say your speaker is the problem.

I have been having trouble when ever I hit the home button I get a black screen with the status showing but the phone not responding for a few seconds. This has been happening repeatedly with this rom. I'm not sure if it has something to do with wiping the cache or if it has to do with titanium backup. Just wanted to see if anyone else is having this problem.

Good to see an official release. I am hoping this has the same commands built in that the other did. I tried a few things at some point after loving Frankenrom. I believe what I have now is the last "official OTA" release I saw, and through a few terminal commands that I learned to open RW on the system folder managed to get my version of Vanilla into the proper place so I am actually running a modified vanilla official release. It feels kind of insane really. LOL. I miss FrankenROM and I believe that I have narrowed my particular issues down to Flash or the Hydra kernel I am using. Because I don't have an issue at all until I load the Hydra Kernel. And then I have no problem until I have been running it for about 3 days. I get odd lags and occasionally when I get a call when the phone is in sleep I can't get the slider to slide. After a few minutes of Zombie Slayer on Myspace my internet just closes. No force close error no warning just die die die hey why am I on my home screen Hold down the home button and it takes me to something else usually the last thing I was doing before zombie slayer. Same thing happens with google image searches. It seems to happen as I say after a few days so I am assuming it is a memory build up causing it to crash or something in the Kernel that doesn't handle something properly. I thought about testing an even higher VM Heap but I am not sure that is the issue.

I like the OC kernels for the little bit of extra speed but it does seem like I have a few small stability issues that I think may be connected to that. Not bad just small aggravations. What I want to know about Adryn's Kernel is how does it manage resources by default. I don't run any kind of OC software or anything like that but I would like to get full speed but still have the battery life that I am getting with the Hydra. I get up at 5 am and on stock Kernels I had to charge my phone at least on the drive home and still didn't always make it to bed time (10 ish). With the Hydra I get up at 5 am after checking 24 hours of tweets and my overnight e-mail and bank account and all the other random crap while I go through my morning routines and taking the dog out and all that I have around 70% (I figure a combo of twidroyd taking a lot of battery resources as well as the screen and the battery reporting issue I have never figured out or really cared enough to try to fix). By the time I go to bed at 10PM - 11 I have had it beeping in the red but only if I have used navigation and/or wifitether a lot. Usually it has 20-33% when I go to bed with no charging and GPS always on which I never used to do.

So I guess I just hope it gets full speed while active and drops to near nill like this one when the screen is off but is stable.

Have you tried any of Adrynalyne's Kernels or any of the King ones? I find those to be much more reliable...

Just my opinion tho.

I actually don't have one as I was having some issues with the phone. GPS was taking forever to lock on and dropping location as well as very long time between updates.

Re-downloaded, flashed the rom again. still sounds like crap. Guess the speaker is fubared.

you people rock you are all so helpfull
after four roms I think its alive is the one for me
thanks for all the help and pointers out there
I dont recall all the pages that helped or I'd thank them all
on to custom themes and mods

I'm a ROM addict, but keep finding myself going back to this one:D.
Glad that you were able to find what you needed here. AF is great!

Mine has also done this since moving to this release. I hope the Boot Animation is killing speakers....

currently running this ROM with kings kernel #4:

SetCPU has the CPU overclocked to 1075mhz with performance scaling and the following profiles are enabled:

Screen off priority 100 384max, 245min ondemand
Battery <25% Prority 65, 768 max, 245 min ondemand
Battery <50% Prority 50, 998 max, 245 min ondemand
Temp > 43.1 C Prority 50, 768 max, 245 min ondemand

SetCPU profiles were taken from a user on these boards, can't remember the exact user name, something like chitownjim? This setup is running stable for me thus far.

Found another issue with the ROM today. Took me a while to notice. The modded signal indicator doesn't show when the phone drops from 3G to 1X. It always shows 3g. I can go to about phone and network and it shows 1x just fine.

Did you install a theme and if so which one?

No theme. Launcher pro. 9.01 radio. Has been the same with stock kernel and bfs#4 also. A well a both times I've flashed the rom.
I don't have an answer, I was just curious because I hav Riptide's theme installed. I don't see it display 1x either. Perhaps it is due to the EVO framework?
