T-Mobile FROYO update

Has anyone else found that text messages now have the date written in the mm/dd/yyyy format?

I think it reverts to defaults on updating. When I updated it took me through the initial setup process again and I had to choose dd/mm/yyyy. You can do this by menu>settings>date & time>select date format.

yes I have that problem as well - the wrong format when you see all text messages in a list, but right when you click on any individual message to view it. It's definitely not just a matter of re-setting your preferred date format.

I'm getting random bugs since t-mob froyo:

• Im not sure if this is LauncherPro but my ringtone and notification tone keeps changing to something random?!

• Screen time out reseting to 15secs.

Also, what happened to froyo updated keyboard features ?

Thanks for the suggestion, but the date/time setting on my phone is (and was) set to Fri 31 Dec 2010.

@Desireme:
I haven't experienced any of the problems you've mentioned, but I haven't tried to duplicate point ii).

Is "Smart Volume locker" an app, or a standard feature I'm not aware of?

I spoke with someone at HTC yesterday who said that there is an unoffical fix for the the whole t-mobile we want to get it right but well rush it out and get it wrong anyway debacle that HTC are workjing on currently. Lets hope it comes in a matter of days/weeks rather than months or never!:)

Well having had froyo for almost 2 weeks now, I'm not a happy bunny :(

My battery is completely messed up. It drops from 100% to around 80% within a few minutes of unplugging. Then it switches off due to a flat battery when the reading still shows more than 20% remaining. Last night I got barely 3 hours from fully charged to flat

Even worse it has started to reboot on it's own for no apparent reason. This sometimes happens when barely warm so it doesn't appear to be an overheating issue.

My phone has worked almost flawlessly for 6 months so I really hope this isn't the beginning of the end.

I'm finding more and more problems, or, more and more problems are finding me. Yes, like you i've had my phone since mid-april with only the text problem. Since the update i'm getting problems all the time. So much so my super-phone, feels a lot less super. Almost to the point of wanting to swap it.

2 other problems, both weather related. The weather app puts my location as a county! FFS a county, can't even pinpoint a town. The news & weather app puts me as a town 8 miles away.

I have both Wifi Position and GPS position ticked. They originally worked but have had bogus positions for a week or so now. I've removed widgets & i turn my phone off at night, neither change it.

In some way feeling 'happy' that FroYo hasn't been rolled out to me yet.....roll on the fix(es) prior to me upgrading!

Exactly same for me.

1) Losing weather location on weather & news/weather widgets
2) SMS date format incorrect (mm/dd/yyyy)
3) Screen timeout reducing to 15 secs
4) Notifications change to something random
5) Move out of SMS whilst composing message with trackpad, cannot return.
6) Battery calibration issues and mis-informing
7) Random reboots.
8) Conflict with smart volume app when using camera.
9) Automatic update of apps, still requires manual update.

My apps update automatically ,Google maps did today ,i didn`t want it too though as i previously had set it not to.

of the tmobile added apps, it seems 'TopApps' is the one that constantly seems to be running in the background even when I don't touch it (or the phone is rebooted i.e it still automatically loads). It 'only' uses 10mb or there abouts so I'm not overly concerned but any way to delete it/stop it from a non-rooted Desire?

T-Mobile told me that it's not possible to uninstall the extra apps, but that an announcement would be made next week.

I also found Google Maps updated automatically. I definitely didn't select that option myself, but maybe the 2.2 update changed the setting. I've removed the automatic setting from all of my apps.

I've also noticed that the dates on e-mails in the standard Desire e-mail program (not Gmail) are shown as MMM dd, not dd MMM. That might have been the case in 2.1, I'm not sure.

well, i've been running for a week with 2.2 with no discernible difference. battery about the same - middle of the road, one busy day does it in, but i can go all day. no noticeable speed increases. i moved some apps to my SD card but all that space has been retaken by newer apps, lol.

i can't say that any of the issues that have plagued some of you guys have made an appearance. i would like to get rid of all the junk they piled on, none of it will ever be of use to me.

I keep getting the random short reboots and dropped calls. My battery life has halved and will onus last one day. All this is a upgrade?

Well done t mobile!
