TitlWhich would sell more? 4.3 inch iPhone 4 or current 3.5 inch iphone?

Seeing as how this has nothing to do with Android and is in the Android Lounge forum, I'm moving this to The Lounge.
 
Something tells me the esoteric circle of iphone users would find 4.3" too big. Although the trend is certainly getting bigger. Have to think the next one will be in that 3.7-4.0" zone. Especially since they'll have to be at at least 1280x720 by then
 
Apple better increase that screen size,I see the envy in their eyes whenever an iphone user look at my girls evo..
 
They may not increase the screen size by that much. Apple likes to find a nice balance between performance, battery life, etc. It may bump up to 3.8" for the iPhone 5, but I don't see them doing something like a 4.3" screen just to keep up with the competition. That's not their philosophy.

you might be right about the phone size, Apple will no make the phone any bigger.

but you can make the screen a lot bigger, without making the phone bigger. It might be a little wider. They can do 4 in screen.
 
I don't think the screen size would make a difference in how well the iPhone sells, really. When the iPhone 4 launched, there were already other options with bigger screens, and people went with the iPhone anyways. It's the Apple iPhone name that is selling them, not the screen size.

Legit point there. As there is an element of the population who will buy a box of rocks so long as there is an apple logo on it :rolleyes:

not to start a debate on mac v PC, but what are these issues people keep getting, ive never had any issue with a PC in the past 10 years.

anywho back to the question. I chose the 3.5 option, I dont think the iPhone would go to 4.3" screen, if anything they would go 4.1" so they could say they were the first, even though theres competitors with similar screen sizes.


(assuming there isnt already a 4.1" phone)
 
Dell thunder has a 4.1 screen. Also, if apple was smart, they'd make at least 3 different sizes each year. The normal 3.5, another one that's somewhere between 3.7-4.0 and the biggest one 4.0-4.3.

I know this won't happen (not that I really care that much), but just sayin...

Issues include a less-intuitive interface, third party programs that don't always play nice with Windows, despite being specifically designed for Windows (OSX runs many of its most successful, useful, productivity apps natively, causing fewer problems.

Many of the bugs you run into on Winblows are just poorly-made third party apps. Actually, the Winblows OS itself screws itself over and stops responding and crashes.

I do everything I did on my PC on my Mac and have never had it crash. Could it be that it's better made? Or that I'm not running the same shitty program I did on Winblows. I dunno. Either way, a switch in OS changed everything.

It's not all about the looks. Sure, some sheeple buy Apple products because they look pretty, but for those of us that just want something that works, and not something we're merely "used to," Winblows really isn't an option.
 
I voted 3.5 inch iPhone4. 4.3 inches is a brick.

You should have included 4 inch iPhone4 in your poll. 4 inches is the perfect size.

And a lot of Android users mock and belittle iPhone users and overall act like an elitist because they don't use Android. It goes both ways. All I'm saying is that discussions like this do nothing other than to bring out the worst in the Android user base, and offers no contribution to the forum other than the elitist stereotype.
 
4.3 won't work for iphone because of it's fixed aspect ration. The android phones with 4.3 have a wvga or wxvga screen that makes the screen narrower while getting more viewing area. The iphone's VGA is pretty much locked in as any diviation would mean most of the apps would have to be changes to fill the screen properly. This trend is seen with the ipad as it has a vga also.

I'm not saying that Apple can't do a wxvga screen....it's just that at this point it's not cost effective AND apple would have to fundamentally change their infrastructure (ie Itunes)
