Update From Mobile Phones Direct

Thinking about ordering with these guys now. How does it normally work?Put the order through and then will monthly charges start once the phone arrives?Thinking about the:
T-Mobile

I just dropped them an e-mail to customer service,if they will give me an honest answer I don't know. I asked if I was to order today would I receive a phone with the first batch of stock they receive or would I be waiting till the second batch came in because all the first lot has been covered by pre-orders already

Some people have had there's on pre-order from mid September so I don't think I will be in the first batch and I pre-ordered mine 03-10-2010.

I'm willing to wait as I feel i'm getting the best value deal for myself. If I go into a store, I know full well i'll pay over the odds to get it

So i've just had an interesting chat with Lauren at MPD via e.Chat..Productive in some sense :)

Please wait. A representative will be with you shortly.
One moment please...
Lauren says:
Hello Spencer Davies. My name is Lauren how can I help you?
Spencer Davies says:
Hi Lauren, sorry to bother you, I ordered my Desire HD on 03-10-2010, just wondering as to what you are defining as limited stock?
Spencer Davies says:
Reason I'm asking as I would like a rough idea as to when I would be likely to receive my new phone as the PAC runs out soon and I don't want to make hassle for you and myself
Lauren says:
We do not know yet, once we do you will be informed
Spencer Davies says:
Ok, can you confirm if the handsets are locked at all to the networks the contract is on or are they arriving in sim free bulk?
Lauren says:
No they are unlocked on a contract
Spencer Davies says:
Ok, thanks for that..and as a heads up, on your Desire HD page, you may want to tell your web dev team that they are false advertising in saying you will get a free 8GB card as all Desire HD's come with the card as standard (confirmed via HTC)..As per the email I received last week, do you still aim to get them to customers by the end of the month or has this been put back as per Vodafone's delayed release?
Spencer Davies says:
..Anyone here?
Lauren says:
We have advertised it from today with the HD's orders before today do not get an 8gb card
Lauren says:
And yes we do still aim for the end of October
Spencer Davies says:
But your missing the point..HTC deliver their phones with the memory card as they bundle their HTC sync software on it as well as other Demo things such as Music, videos, etc. So are you removing the memory cards out of the phones as of today prior to delivery?..And is that the aim for ALL customers who have pre-ordered the Desire HD handset (before end of october) or is that for people who pre-ordered in Sept and earlier?. As I said, just trying to get a picture as to when I shall be obtaining i
Spencer Davies says:
obtaining it*
Lauren says:
I will just confirm and come back to you
Spencer Davies says:
Ok thanks
Lauren says:
Ok I have confirmed all the HD's come as standard with 8GB installed to the handset
Spencer Davies says:
Thanks and the second part to my question?
Lauren says:
We will be receiving limited stock in, but we do not know yet how many orders that will cover, you will be notified once we have this conformation
Spencer Davies says:
Ok, many thanks Lauren for your help :)

NOTE: If you saw how long it took for a response, I actually went to the chippy and came back and got then just got response. And thats a 10 min walk there and back lol.

Congratulations on your 100th birthday!

Another thing that interests me about Tesco is that I believe they use O2, which shows good coverage where I live. I'm currently on Orange, and their coverage is not great here. I was hoping for better things with their merger with T Mobile - but their coverage is even worse!

So (thanks to my 30 day SIM only policy) I think Tesco - here I come.

The use O2's customer service too which some is outsourced in Rotherham

Stupid question but does this mean the MPD tariff are incorrect according to T-Mobile web-page.??

Can MPD change there tarrif?

Damn,I don't feel too eager to use these now

I would now after seeing those T-Mobile prices haha

MobilePhonesDirect are in essence a reseller so they can charge what they like for the handset and mix and match the tariffs up.

MPD will not align them to match T-Mobiles as then they would have no purpose as a business.

But what I would do is get your order in before they catch on and want to change their pricing for the phone ;)

I ordered the phone on the 22nd of Sept... If they can change the deal, I may aswell cancel and deal direct with T-Mobile?

I'm tipping you will yours before me as you had your pre-order in longer than me (mine was on 03-10-2010)

Hopefully!! At the same time I ordered the phone I ordered a case from HTC direct.... Got a confirmation e-mail saying we expect stock in 45 working days! Hopefully the phone will come before the case!:D

How do I know if I pass my credit checking from MPD? I went to T-Mobile this morning to check whether I pass my credit checking and I can't even pass for Sim Only Contract. LOL. I got no idea how to build up my credit history as I don use my debit card to buy things online or anywhere. But I try to order Sim Only contract throught T-Mobile online and hopefully I will get mine in 2 days time. For MPD until now I haven't receive any mail from them about failure to pass throught credit checking. If I don get any mail by end of this week does that means I pass it?

I'll probably get myself a leather case

You will know if you have passed as MPD will progress the order as normal..If you fail they will contact you and advise you.

If you can't pass on a sim only contract then there isn't a great chance you will accepted on a normal phone contract. But saying that, lets all hold out hope for you :)

How to Build A Credit Rating From Scratch

Hope that link helps you :).

My advice to you is to keep an eye out on your order on MPD. If it turns to despatched, which hopefully will be soon, then you will have passed :). As I said though, if there is a problem, MPD will contact you anyway. Don't worry so much xD

I just chat with T-Mobile through e-chat and he told me to try order one through online which most probably I will pass. LOL.
Anyway, finger cross and I hope MPD will not call me. ahahhaha.
Thanks for the link, you have been very helpful to me. :)
