Accessories Made-for-the-EVO Car Mount??

Arkon is really doing its job well on my Evo. Only problem is I didnt get the vent mount from the guy i bought it from on Ebay, sucks since I could have gotten it from the Amazon for the same price with the Vent mount.

Don't know how they decide on which ones to pad and which ones get bare plastic. I figure it's just easy to keep consistent and pad them all. If anything it just makes the customer feel better about protecting the finish of their phone.

I got my Evo ProClip in the mail today (the tilt/swivel model). Fits perfect. One interesting thing is the holders are now felt-lined (kinda weird!).

Anyway, their available, go here: ProClip Mounting System*-*Device Holders

I posted this on Hardforums (which I am a moderator) but figured it would get more use here probably...

I was planning on putting together a carputer but decided this is the way to go. I took a long road trip and my partner was able to watch espn via slingbox and catch a few movies on the way. It was great having all my online radio stations available too. I went with the seidio dock because it would still work with the extended battery.

I had to modify a TPU case to give the EVO the protection I wanted. I take no credit .. just saw it done on the interwebs. probably here. see below.

Hope this helps anyone trying to eliminate the suction seidio mount and to keep everything off the windshield. The mount swivels so I can turn it sideways for movies. (for the passenger of course) I'm sure this method will work for other docks / phones also...

I hardwired a 12v socket behind my dash and used one of these... which gave me an additional socket for my garmin traffic reciever and 4 usb ports for other stuff. I installed two usb extention cables to allow passengers to charge up and added two micro usb cables for the gps dock and one extra. I then used a bracketron mount with swivel to mount the dock.

The dock is a Seidio Innotraveler kit for the EVO and the audio is fed through the auxillary on the stereo.. I modded the seidio extended battery case with a hacked up TPU case to protect it. it's a tight fit in the dock but it works great even with the 3500mah battery. Dremel with plastic cutting disc worked great.

Seidio Innotraveler dock.. uses standard AMPS mount. Ditched the suction mount.

no probs with this.. it is able to charge my garmin in a pinch and charge light came on with both androids connected simultaneously. It's also fused which is a plus.

not sure why some of my links are borked but you get the idea...

woohoo!! first post.

That is one busy setup. Did you ever think to get a BT receiver and plug that in to the aux in? Would clean up that setup a bit ditching the headphone plug. Many can be powered via mini or micro USB and you have the inputs on the 12v socket. Miccus makes a decent one and there are some cheap ones on focal price, deal extreme and such that will do the job.

never considered it... prob cause BT sucks for sound quality.. I am running Focal speakers and Image Dynamics subs... BT wouldn't do it justice. I am also connected to a BT ODB2 reader. (as shown in the pic with Torque). not sure if I can have multiple connections

that setup is awesome - how does the slingbox work? i have dish and saw something about being able to watch tv with their app but it looks like you need slingbox to use it? do you have the 4g network available?

I got this one and it's about all i could ask for:

At $18.95 + s&h it is still less than half the cost of the 'official one'. It doesnt have a connection to a charger etc but i have that rigged up otherwise. Its also got the hole in the back to allow for photos/video.

Had it for a few weeks now and worked well - only drawback is that the phone gets really really hot if its a sunny day, but i think youll probably get that with any mount.

Id recommend it
