Root [ROM] ApeX V1.0 for Droid X - An AOSP Experience (10/20/10)

Well I was running this ROM just fine at the default OC speed....then I decided to play Angry Birds. My phone now reboots every time I play the game. Anyone else with this problem?

Side note: If I turn off OC then I get zero reboots. :(

I haven't had any problems with Angry Birds, but I am not using the default OC, I have adjusted my own clock speeds and voltages myself.

Yeah it seems that my x can really only go to 1.15...I have tried other settings and I just reboot ....right now im at 1.15 lv with no reboots ....and actually my x still flies and is very smooth so all in all im happy plus lv will help batt life or should at least but I always use my x very heavily so good batt life is really non existant when u use it to that extent regardless of what u do

I've got the same exact thing going on with mine.

Using the method described in post #2 of this thread, I copied these apps from removedapps.zip and then installed each one. I rebooted and was able to sync e-mail, contacts and calendar with my work's Exchange server.

android-syncservice-app.apk
BlurCalendar.apk
BlurEmail.apk
BlurEmailEngine.apk
BuaContactAdapter.apk
Messaging.apk
MtlrNotifier.apk
PolicyMgrProvider.apk
PolicyMgrService.apk
SyncML.apk
UniversalInbox.apk
WorkContacts.apk

I'm note sure if all of these apps are needed, but since everything works I'm not messing with it. Hope this helps

Thanks for the help. Where do these need to be copied to on the SD card? I tried the root directory and ran the script in mobile terminal to no avail. I went through all of the folders but nothing stuck out that looked like the correct folder.

**Edit** Nevermind I rebooted the phone and it works. Ill try to finish them all and see if the sync works. Thanks again.

I am loving this rom. I'm new to the whole idea but works great. I had trouble with the forced reboot but I set it to stock and oc with the d2/dx overclock app until I make my own .sh file.
My only issue is that the car home that is installed won't let me change the extra app slots and The Market can't find it but app brain does. Any way to fix this?

TIA

You can restore the Blur cardock using the install script and the file provided in the 2nd post with all the removed apps in it.

---------------------------

REVOlution is now available in the 1st post. There are alternate battery icons as well, but do not install them until after you've installed the theme. I also added links to the NexTheme, REVOlution, and stock fonts.

You guys should download Jrummy's OC app...OCing from the terminal is so last wednesday ;)
That app is too limiting, if you could make minor adjustments it would be much better, the other one by unstable apps allows for this adjustment and is better for now

I love this ROM.. I forgot for a moment how much Blur sucks. I too have been getting restarts, but I turned overclocking off and haven't gotten any since. Perhaps overclocking should be turned off by default

Is there anyway to get stock froyo car dock?

thought so. I guess I gotta figure out why I can't change the blank boxes. Thanks for all the work you did on this. :)

I have had a terrible night, man. Fab, can you use your genius and see if you can help me?

I made a nandroid of my ApeX set up through the Droid X Bootstrapper. I then wiped cache and data and installed the Fission ROM. Finding out it was almost exactly like ApeX, I went back into Clockwork through Bootstrap to restore my set up. When I tried, I got "md5 mismatch." So I was like okay, weird, and I did a clean install of ApeX. I then went BACK into Bootstrap to restore data from my MotoFroyo - only to get the same error again.

I have since tried Bootstrap, ROM Manager, and tried extracting the files I want (namely all my text messages...literally months of them :/) from the data.img nandroid backup. Nothing.

It's obvious I did something, but I can't for the life of me figure out what. I deleted the nandroid.md5 and made another using terminal emulator (and I checked it on my mac - it all checks out. The md5s match). Still nothing. Right now I would really just like my texts back - I can live with getting everything else back over time. I'm using Clockworkmod 2.5.0.6. I can get into 2.5.0.7 if I bootstrap then go into ROM Manager and tell it to reboot, but I get the same error.

Please tell me I'm not screwed.

EDIT: Tomorrow I might SBF, root, install Bootstrapper, and try to restore if nobody comes up with anything...that is if I feel up to it. I've been at this for hours.

I did this once by renaming my backups through estrongs .....when they filed by date they would backup fine the second I named them to better remember which was which I got the error for md5sum mismatch also .....I thought this was odd so I tested it out a few times and sure enough every tine I rename a backup for some reason its useless

My panoramic mode won't work either. The camera app simply closes out when I try that option. I am still on the leaked 2.2 version, so I'll try to SBF to the real OTA version tonight.

Has there been a solid solution to the panoramic camera problem?

Thanks,

anybody use Beasley's OC from Rom Manager?

I am not using Beasley's OC from Rom Manager, but I was using his zip on RC2 and it worked great. I have saved the same settings from Beasley's OC on my SD card and are using those and it is working great on my phone, 1.38 OC.

I am not having problems with any apps and Angry Birds works great, played it for a couple hours last night with no issues.

The only solution I know of is deleting the nandroid.md5 and recreating another from the emulator. Did you try renaming the backup? Also, I think I read somewhere that clearing the cache before trying to restore a backup might help with the md5 error. If you've tried all these, then I don't know what else to suggest :(

---------------------------------------------------------

Just out of curiosity, are those with camera close outs in panorama mode running NexTheme?

I think it's because it has an older version of the BlurCamera.apk. Reinstalling the version that came with ApeX should fix it.

Fab - It looks like the Handcent time offset problem has returned with ApeX v1.0. Have you had any other reports of the problem? I can uninstall Handcent and reinstall if you think that is the solution... Suggestions?

edit: Handcent was reinstalled through Titanium when I loaded ApeX. Just an FYI.

edit2: Thanks to @chrlswltrs, reset my timestamp offset to 0 in Handcent and all is well...
