Official List of Post 2.0.1 Issues

Nope, the homescreens with shortcuts, widgets, app icons should NOT rotate (not that we don't WANT it to). The lock screen doesn't rotate either unless you slide out the keyboard...

My phone started to go into landscape mode while shut last night. never did it before but now it does...:)

I just noticed something with my 2.0.1 phone - I set the screen timeout to 2 minutes yesterday after getting the update. It switched itself to 1 minute. I just went in and set it back to 2 minutes. Will keep an eye on this and see if it sets itself back.

May possibly be related to Locale, but will check the settings for 'Default'. I don't think it has the option to set the screen timeout, though.

I am using Home++ and the Home Screen DOES rotate when Orientation setting is checked. It does NOT rotate when Orientation setting is unchecked as one would have expected.

I also just went back to the standard Home Screen and you are correct that it does NOT rotate and the Orientation setting has no effect on it.

For those having problems after 2.0.1 install, it would be interesting to know if you waited for the OTA install or did a forced install.

thsi is why i use the mybackup app..i think theres also others but thats the one i use you can back up thing to the sd card which in your case wouldnt have helped and you can back things up to online which would have helped

I just plug it into one of my Linux boxes and back up the the sdcard into a directory on the hard drive with rsync.

You could do this on a Windoze box also (just do a file copy; fine for media files) but you will lose your file permission attributes, for what it's worth.

I can confirm that after listening to music through the headphones the speaker stops functioning for music, videos, games, and phone calls until a restart.

Noticed too that the home screen no longer rotates to landscape unless I open the keyboard.

Appears the Facebook widget is finally fixed and updates.

Browser does seem slower than 2.0.

Browser seems a little slower and My connection to Ford Sync bluetooth doesnt connect all the time like it did. I cant hit the bluetooth button , it doeant light up sometimes.

I used the OTA update.
Built in power widget has turned black - real difficult to see now. Have tried deleting and re-adding - same thing.

I can add some new widgets and shortcuts, but do get not enough space with others(facebook).

I've also just noticed that my POP and IMAP email accounts on the Email app have stopped working. Exchange Active sync is still working fine(or as well as it did before). Saw several news stories about email problems and accounts deleteing themselves - I'm just not getting updates, the accounts are still there.

Facebook widget does add - just needed to move a few other icons.

Can you folks with 2.0.1 try something? From the pattern unlock screen hit "Emergency Call" and see if the screen dies on you. I'm having that problem. I discovered it by accident just messing around. Thanks!

Yes the screen goes blank for me as well

For those who has landscape orientation issues, did you guys go back into settings (Sound and Display) Orientation box is unchecked? Mine was unchecked and I checked and now it switches..

Emergency call screen is fine on mine.

Larry, you're using a replacement Home app, the DEFAULT one is the one I was talking about. I'm glad you mentioned you're not using the default, but please realize that's likely WHY your screen actually rotates.

Autobahn, that's how it worked before the update, I promise it's not something new. Lots of people complained about it before. The browser is also a known issue, there are other threads about that.

Orangefan, my power widget also changed color. I kind of prefer it this way, it looks a little more 'classy' or polished than the old one.

For those that haven't seen it, here's the new built-in power widget...

I have my screen time out set for two minutes. But I have found that after the update if I input my unlock code wrong, I only have about 1 second to try again or the screen goes black. Same is happening with the emergency call button. It's really frustrating!

Also just found that Dockrunner will not close after the update. I had to go into task killer to close it but then it left my screen in landscape mode permanently. Had to do a reboot to correct it.

Really starting to miss 2.0.

After finish a phone call, it used to give me the option to end call after the phone is away from my ear, now it is locked after call and i have to manually unlock then hit end call?.? Power save or has my settings been changed in 2.0.1?

I have the same issue after the update. At the end of the call it makes me unlock before it takes me back to the phone screen. Very annoying!

The phone doesn't play the audio file for "Droid" when starting up from a reboot anymore.
Not really a problem, just something I noticed.

i will go through this thread tomorrow and index the complaints. There are alot of counterdiscussions in here, so I'll try and sort them out. I think the only clear thing is that 2.0.1 was hardly the "upgrade" we were hoping for. Fixed some things, and broke some other things. :(

I kind of like the keyboard dimmer now that I know it's a feature. It stays dark after reboot until the first time I change the screen brightness. Gmail didn't push until I did a refresh. Camera focus is a lot faster, but pictures are still grainy.

About the backlighting on the keyboard and soft keys.

If you bring the phone into darkness the keyboard and softkeys will become back light. They seem to be using the light sensor to determine when they come on. I noticed that playing around with it at my desk at work. I covered the top of the screen where the speaker is and the keys light up.

It sound reasonable, but I was in a TUNNEL, then later driving at night, only to haphazardly select keys. No backlight. At all. Total darkness.

Other issues that didn't exist for me prior to 2.0.1...
1) dialer force close, 3 times today so far
2) screen goes black, will not respond (got email notifications and pandora continued to stream), required battery pull
3) 3 minute load time for almost all browsing pages, in 3g with 3 bars
4) upon restarting, no signal for calls or browser
