I signed up for the beta on their website and got an email with a link to the newest version of it. Hit up their website, I'm sure they'll take care of it.

Yeah that only worked while their beta was open. Now that it's closed they won't let anyone new sign up until they re-open their beta.

Im getting the Epic ( Hopefully tommorow 11/2 ). The GPS will be annoying a bit. But when you find a TOMTOM Gps for $30 ( you would be SOOO dumb to pass that deal up. ) brand new at bestbuy in clearance, why would I want to use the Epic's GPS

many situations come up.. when you are not near your TomTom...

in other cars...
outside of your car..and you want to look something up...
Traffic info.. with GPS...
The combination of GPS and Phone give you a lot of benefits...

I have a stand alone GPS... top of the line... and I prefer my phone! way more convenient

I hardly use my phone for gps/ traffic checking. Im a Delivery driver. way more convenient for me to have a standalone GPS

Posting from my new evo. Day one running stock had been awesome. Tomorrow I will be giving cyanogen mod six a shot so we'll see k how that goes. THE epic is slightly faster than the evo in a few areas, but nothing that would make or break a decision. Expect a full on review in about a week when I've had time to play with both phones, and also toroot and mod them as well.

Cool let us know what you think.

Why did you decide on getting the Evo over the Epic. I am trying to decide right now I have a epic but I like my wife's evo seems more simple less moving parts. But I like the OS and how the Epic is more organized.

Thanks

I was originally going to go for the Epic, but after thinking about it thoroughly I realized two(ish) deciding factors of my going with the Evo

1. I don't need a keyboard- I played around with typing on the Epic and it just didnt feel right to me. After using a Hero for a year, it seemed unnecessary and the Evo's on-screen KB is just so smooth.

2. Better support community/hardware/software (IMO)- Again, after being spoiled with the Hero's great support community, I found it natural to stick with HTC to root/ROM to my hearts content. I like the bigger screen, the kickstand and Sense UI. The Evo is one of the reasons why I decided not to get a netbook, I can do whatever I need to do on my desktop such as course work, and everything else on my Evo

Hope that helped...

I think the biggest thing you'll lose is being able to take great pics with your phone. Epic has Evo beat here...

I Disagree. So far, the EVO destroys the Epic's pictures. I'll show some side by sides later.

I never thought to see IOWA with an HTC Evo in my life time. It's like winning the lottery for me... LOL... J/K mate, nice of you to try it. CHEERS! :)

I've had my Evo and Epic for over a month now, using them extensively.

I do agree the Epic's camera seems better. The Evo's photos are more grainy whereas the Epic's photos are more clear and sharp.

The Evo's GPS blows the Epic's GPS out of the water. However I did use the Epic's GPS outdoors successfuly. The Evo's GPS works well even indoors, and acquires position rapidly.

I'm still glad I have both because it's a tough decision to choose one. They both are awesome phones and I enjoy switching between them every few days.

Zomg IOWA bought an evo? And he's defending it too? I think the world is coming to an end, I'm talkin fire and brimstone coming down from the skies, rivers and seas boiling, forty years of darkness, earthquakes, volcanoes, the dead rising from the grave, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together - mass hysteria.

So, im posting from my evo, and i am extremely happy that i made the change from the epic. It is slightly slower, but it is rare that there is any lag. It also feels more solid in my hand, its nice.

What a coincedence, I just traded my epic for an evo today. Absolutley LOVING this phone.... Feels so much better in the hand. Hada few problems activating it, but thats sprints fault.. The kickstand is more handy then you think!
