This will definitely be my next phone, 3G or LTE. I would love to get an LTE phone, but if this one is 3G only, oh well. 4.3" SenseUI Verizon phone FTW!
all LTE devices will also be 3G, VZW voice will still use the 3G network for now
what i'm kinda getting now is that there are 2 devices, 1 is the incredible hd that is supposed to be coming out on the 23rd and will be 3g. another is something else that will be coming out first quarter next year and will be 4g. this is all purely speculation at this point but its good that the inc hd with 3g may still be a green light for this month. i'm not ready to pay extra for 4g and on top of that have a cap on my usage. why give me ultra fast download speeds but then i have to constantly watch my usage so as not to go over.

In two weeks KY is going to smoke the Vols! Ahh, who am I kidding
The one bad thing about maybe leaving the Incredible is the sweet DSP manager that the Incredible has after rooting
Then again. the call quality will NOT be missed- assuming the HD is better, of course.
ok so i just left my local verizon store a few hours ago and had an interesting talk with a salesman there. i told him i had a coouple upgrades and was looking at phones.
after a while he came back and asked if i had seen anything i liked to which i replied "i think my next phone is coming out on the 23 of november". he looked at me confused and i said "you know the new incredible. i think it is called the incredible hd".
at this point he was really looking at me funny and asked "are you with corporate "?
i awkwardly said ""no haha". he said well how do you know about that phone? and i just smiled.
he said let me check on something and walked over to the manager they looked up something on the computer and talked for a second. he came back and said that this phone will indeed be released on 11-23 and he took my phone number and told me that he will call me when they get them in and put two back for me if i still want them! he also gave me his card
its my understanding that the 11-23 release will be 3g and the 3-11 will be 4g.

look at post 26 in particular. i have found ubrocked to be very accurate with his info in the past plus if it is released in November it will have to be 3g a s4g isn't available yet.
yea i know 4g won't be ready but i was thinking maybe a hybrid 3g/4g like the evo.
All Verizon 4G phones will be "hybrid 3G/4G" as you put it. They can't do voice over LTE yet, so they'll be using their 3G (CDMA) for voice, and also for data in areas where they won't have 4G access.
Releasing a 4G only device with the smaller initial coverage footprint would be stupid. Even Sprint's Wimax phones default back to CDMA, and T-Mobile's HSPA+ phones fall back to HSPA and GSM/EDGE/GPRS.
