Root [ROM] ApeX V1.0 for Droid X - An AOSP Experience (10/20/10)

believe me, i tried overclocking, underclocking over/under volting, EVERYTHING made me have a trillion reboots every day. Not bashing the rom... just warning you if you have this issue change roms

Any ApeXers try Fission 2.1? Like it?

I switched to fission 2.1 and I do feel it is faster and more stable, no strang slowdowns. However I also sbfed first so maybe that had something to do with it... Apex comes better configured with the dx camera and some widgets and its add free where these things need to be added. And of course nextheme which I am severely missing....

Fabolous' work it always amazing, and with fission being so plaine I dont think il be getting themed moto tourch etc like is possible with apex. I guess I'm a bit torn.

I switched to Rubix Focused 1.6. Not that I did not like APEX, just wanted to change it up a little. Apex worked great for me and I am keeping the back-up because I liked it so much. I was getting one soft reboot each day. I have OCd Rubix to the same as I was on Apex and I get one soft reboot a day as well. So I can say without a doubt that my reboots were due to the OC. I will deal with one soft reboot a day to have the speed and feel that I have being OCd.

Once there is an update to Apex I will have my backup made and be jumping over to give it a try again. I am addict, I can only go so long without flashing something new. :-)

hmmm i can go for days w/o a soft reboot on apex @ 1.35 ghz. Oh well.

Impressive, I'm not so lucky, so I joined the undervolt crowd instead. I could not OC at all. I do wonder if my slowdowns were caused by the LV setting. Still missing NexTheme! Have the phone all backed up in case I decide to jump back.

Is this how the revolution dialer skinned looks like I have a feeling its still skinned from my black glass deodex

Here's a problem...for some reason I cannot connect to my home wireless. it is obviously working since I am posting this from it.

I have cleared my Y5 cache, forgot all wireless networks, etc. It keeps trying to obtain IP address but won't get one...

Ideas?

I've had 3 reboots so far the third I had to do a batt pull. During that boot it loafed me background and taskbar then started to jump back to the" android" loading screen. Anyone having this problem?

I've been running apex for about 3 weeks now. It has it's quirks, mostly related to the backlight, but it's been rock solid other than that. To my knowledge, it is still the only rom (other than maybe Blurry) that supports HDMI and panoramic pictures. So long as that remains the case, i'll be staying with apex.

update update update! LOL

Haha this!

I've had a few quirks, but nothing major. Was thinking to do a clean install of everything soon. Will there be any updates to Apex soon? Or should I just go ahead and do a clean install of 1.0?

Thanks Fab!

Fab-
I have tried a few different Roms and I gotta say, wow! Top notch work brother. Thanks for all your hard work.

I have been running APex with Revolution for a few days and i have noticed my battery drains easily. I unplug my phone in the morning at 4am and by 9am with very light use its at 60%.

I do have the dx/d2 root app so i could see stats and temps but i havent went into it and OC'ed. I have not turned off the OC that came with apex.

I do have about 4gigs free on my 16g sd card..could that be the problem.

ANyone have some input? Thanks

Try downloading system panel and see if there's an app that's sucking up all your juice. Those numbers sound incredibly awful.

I took my phone off the charger at 8am today, and 10 hours later I still have 70% left (using the default overclock profile).

My usage was pretty average, I think ~1hr w/ the display on.
