Root [ROM] ApeX 1.2 Series for Droid X - Functionality and Performance (12/7/10)

Not sure if it is ROM related, but I can't send or receive email. First time this has happened, only after installing the ROM. Anyone run into any email issues?

which app? Gmail, stock email app or third party? did you try uninstalling the app or clearing the app's cache?

yeah i dont like any of that stuff clogging things.

Ditto. There is a lot more stuff in this ROM compared to 1.0. Was thinking to delete the VZW backup assistant to, but unless Fab says its ok and wont effect anything, looks like a freeze will be coming up in TIBU.

is the hdmi option in the gallery work or is the readl hdmi app working?
it doesn't on fission so i am looking for a new ROM to try.

100% FLAWLESS!!!!! Battery liffe has tripled! and thanks a TON to the DEV for answering my PM's so quickly and thoroughly...flashed it yesterday and have been abusing it since....

1 quick question....what are the 4 settings stated in the OP?

"Overclocking (1.0.2.x only):
-overclock

Comes with 4 profiles by default"

I am getting FC all over the place. Diaper FC everytime you access it. And now the com.android.phone is FCing. When I used apex 1.0.2.2 everthing worked great. Once I went to 1.2.1 its hasn't been good.

Before going to 1.2.1 I sbf backed to 2.3.15, did the 2.3.30 sys update to get to the 30.04. Then used the released full 2.3.30 sbf, zrooted, flashed Apex 1.2.1 and follwed the directions and then installed the REVOlution theme.

I did full wipes of data and cache after the sbfs.

I don't know how to explain this, you shouldn't be getting any FC's :)

Perhaps try redownloading the ApeX 1.2.1 and REVOlution files. Maybe one of them was corrupt (thinking ApeX, since REVO doesn't touch dialer).

Can we uninstall the Verizon Backup Assistant with this ROM?

Should be fine doing that. I added it back because a lot of 1.0 users wanted it (they never synced their contacts with Google!)

Go see for yourself, in terminal emulator:

su
overclock

You'll see all the profiles and options available.

I thought uninstalling Backup Assistant could cause huge problems? On XDA's bloatware list, it's item #1 of things that you should never do.

Bloatware - XDA-Developers

But that may not apply to the new leak... you certainly know more than I do. :D

It should be alright. It wasn't in ApeX 1.0 :)

just did the ULV....should this help my battery life? I am aiming for a personal record for battery life :)

Yep. Make sure you ran the script to apply it for a single session as well. You can check to see if the overclock took by running:

su
cpuinfo

and see if the max is now 1100.

Thanks Fab! Will uninstall tomorrow. I froze it for now in TIBU. I've also uninstalled NFS and Social Networking. I don't even have a Facebook or anything, so figured Id uninstall it. Thanks for the green light on the VZW backup uninstall!

Yeah maybe if you are using the stock OTA and launcher. Don't think it applies here though.

Indeed! I used to really like VZW backup, but finally gave in and started using Google to backup. Have not looked back!

Awesome. :)

VZW backup always seemed pointless to me since I have everything backed up in Google anyways. I guess it's for people who like to store stuff right on their phone.

Now when I open Angry birds and choose a level it just closed.

I used titanium backup and backed up only my apks that I had on 2.3.15. Do you think the issue could stem from that? Maybe use app brain and just let them all redownload after I sbf fresh to 2.3.320 and start over? Since apex1.2.1 is for the leaked 2.3.320 would that include in the just released full sbf?

EDIT: re-sbf'ed and started again fresh. No more issues

com.android.phone is what seems to always be force closing
