Root [ROM] ApeX 1.2 Series for Droid X - Functionality and Performance (12/7/10)

Should i wait awhile just in case if Verizons 3G is back up? I was able to make a call but i couldn't get on the internet.

If i wipe data your talking about "power on + home" method since i dont have bootstrapp or rom manager?
 
Hello..

Flasshed to Apex for OTA.. IT went great.. BUT.. now I have a problem..

I need to know how to bypass the activation screen to get into my phone. I have tried a few tricks I've found by googling but none work with this ROM.. Soo does anyone know how to bypass the activation screen?

You shouldn't need to worry about going to .320 because Team Black Hat should have a way to upgrade to .340. If your talking about the Gingerbread theme for Apex. I'm running it and loving it no problems.

That should have the same effect as Clockwork Mods wipe. Hopefully verizon should be fixed in the morning.

I have also tried just cancelling the activation but this ROM forces activation.

Right now my phone is useless so I REALLY hope someone has a way to bypass this activation. :)

Because Im not using it as a telephone perse right now.. more of an MP3 player/web browser etc.. like an android iPod Touch.. So I cant just activate it because Im not paying for service. Does that make sense?

i see ..the only method i knew to try of was the four corner trick :confused:
 
Fab, any suggestions for my issue with the screen not turning off on it's own? It happens quite often and I'd really like to figure out how to fix it.

Does it happen when it's plugged in or unplugged? I assume that you checked the Screen Timeout setting in the Display section? My setup is probably the same as yours (.320 leak with ApeX on top) and my screen shuts off fine. If it happens only when it's plugged in, there's a separate setting for that somewhere.

Yes if your not on the leak which it shows you are not then if you have a backup you made after root but prior to flashing a rom then restore and unroot and update or you can try it without unrooting but it may or may not work or if you don't have the backup you will have to flash the 2.2 sbf then update .....you may want to wait if you are happy with your current set up as it may have bugs and to wait for the devs to crank out some roms based of the update ....if you need the sbf here is a link with downloads and instructions

Hey fab, can you explain how I could grab that LWP out of your GB theme? that thing is the sex! do I just grab the LiveWallpapers.apk and install it? Will that over write any LWPs I have now?

It happens when it's unplugged, screen time out is set for 30 seconds. At one point yesterday I ended a call, put the phone down (screen down), picked it up about an hour later and the screen was still on.

I think I am going to do just that, wait a bit. I have everything setup and running perfectly, not in a huge rush to restore backups and all that stuff.

yeah i want that too but not the whole theme, but i also uninstalled live wallpaper on my phone would this be a problem??

yeah me too but the impatient person in me feels like im missing out on something lol, but im most likely not
 
i tried to install livewallpaper.apk from the gb theme but it wouldnt let me. is it bc i deleted livewallpaper.apk from my phone? i didnt freeze it which i should but is there a way i can install it back so i can get that lwp

is it much different than revo? i dont like the green accents i think revolutions green and white accents are much nicer. plus im not a fan of the new adw at all
 
Process com.motorola.services has stopped unexpectedly. Steps to recreate: From the settings menu, go to Accounts and click on the Add account button. Every time I do this I get a FC. That said, I am able to continue afterwards.

Anyone else?

Without a doubt this trick works. We're talking about at the screen where it says 'Welcome to Droid X' and there's an android and two buttons on the bottom. Slowly, but surely press the four corners, starting with the top left.

I have yet to experience this. Can you check in settings, applications, development, that keep screen on is not checked (I know, this should only apply when you're plugged in).

It's gonna replace the Neural Network LWP, that's all. You can just grab it, place it on the sdcard:

su
install LiveWallpapers.apk

Make sure you're not running the Neural Network LWP when you're doing this ;)

Did you install a theme or remove any blur apps? I cannot recreate this.
