Root [ROM] ApeX 1.2 Series for Droid X - Functionality and Performance (12/7/10)

OK I tested this on ApeX 1.0.2.2 on 2.3.15 and everything worked perfect for me
Make a backup to be safe though as im not responsible for anything that you do to your phone

This is the ApeX Revo theme from Fab with the lock sliders from Fab's GB theme
Obviously all credit for these go to Fab, I just combined the images for someone.

Not sure if anyone else noticed this but after installing the gingerbread theme my Motorola text messaging app (messaging -mot) closes immediately after it opens. Similar to the glitch with the email app. When i use the aosp messaging app i have no problems. Not sure why though. Any thoughts?

I have the Gingerbread theme and use the Motorola messaging and I do not get a force close at all, I had to reset my preferences to default to the Motorola version but not close issues. I did have an issue for about 3 hours where whenever I would get a message it would show twice, but that all of the sudden has stopped as well.
 
Hey Fab, planning a .340 update for Apex? Heard p3 say that .340 would be ready sometime today and to get rsdlite warmed up. Loving all the recent Dx activity but it has to be driving y'all nuts with keeping the rom's updated. ;) Thanks for everything you do, bro!

i am trying to replace the batt icon from nex theme to gingerbread theme ...i opened archive extracted then just did the drag and drop method ....i just ned to know if i have to replace every batt png and file inside of framework in order for this to work correctly?

Yes, all of the battery and charging icons would need to be changed.

Don't forget to grab the one called something like ic_lockscreen_batt or whatever, it's the icon when you're charging and at the lockscreen ;)


As for .340, I don't get a release any sooner than you guys. Probably look for a new build of ApeX this weekend, though I'm not making any promises!

loving the rom so far. still having some high battery drain that i cant figure out yet. i turned a bunch of moto processes off so i will see.

Quick question : first time this has happened with any rom I've installed: google listen isn't working but music and pandora work fine uninstall / reinstall doesn't help. Nor does clear cache. Any ideas?
 
ok Fab.......First off, love the rom! best out yet! I have 1 issue. I'm not using the .320 version, I am running nex theme, I am running blur email, running ur hotfix as well and no task management. Ok here is the problem. Setup Corp Sync and all works well (calander, Corp directory) except the email app. it will act like its syncing for 30-60 seconds and the blur email app will just close! I tried the aosp email ap and it works perfect, except if I use it i only get emails from the past month (app limitation), and no Corp directory(cause it syncs with corp sync)! Any ideas please? Thanks!

P.S. This is through exchange of course..
 
hey fab. do you have the file for the battery icon from the apex theme? i just installed the nextheme but love the one with the percentage.
 
My phone's screen backlight isn't shutting off... I hadn't noticed this until applying the hotfix. Not sure its related though? I remember someone else mentioning this but I got lost in the 700+ replies. Any suggestions?

yes i have had this problem but only every now and then ,hardly ever but i know airmaxx has had a big problem with this but a reboot usually corrects it ,also i know its obvious but make sure your screen timeout settings etc are all still set
 
Hi there,

I am wondering if anyone can help me. I just installed this rom on my Droid X after running Rubix. This rom is great but for some unknown reason, it just won't work right on my phone. I am experiencing the following issues:

- Cannot install or update apps from the market
- cannot install any apps from the SD card (when I install an app, the progress bar indicates as though it's installing but it never does)
- I have reset the phone but still the same issue
- Tried installing apps from my SD card using the built-in terminal app but no success

By the way, I installed the right rom file from the get go (2.3.15 kernel).

I have a backup copy of the boostrapp app but given the above issues, there is no way I can even install it to be able to revert back to anything from recovery.

Besides resorting to sending the phone back to VZW, are there any other options to resolve the above issues?

Sorry for posting this here, as I don't mean to hijack the forum in anyway. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
 
Droidholic,

definately not a problem with Apex unless your install was corrupted. Try 3 things. 1 check that your SD card is ok, can you mount it via usb and read it? 2 make sure you have allowed unknown sources to install under application settings, 3 clear data in the Market app and try again. Sometimes when I download or update an app it does not take the first time and you have to cancel download and try again. This is with all roms and happened on my Droid 1 as well. If still no luck try a clean format system, data and cache and fresh install the rom again.
