Root The I borked my SF support group thread

he said something like he was using the master branch and jt was using the voodoo dev branch, I dont know anyone on his 1200 should be fine, equally true he will likely rebuild the 1200's but as for the 1300's those are :( IMO

yeah we've discussed 1.25 likely be the upper reach of stability anyway....id like to see just very stable 1200 tbh

agreed, IMO OTB1200v5.02 and .04 are 99% there it seems. I would like to see the red cwm revised to completely match what jt has.
Also some think with 2.2 we might get a bit more OC headroom like the Dinc and DX got a boost

typical to get acore fc's in airplane mode? I'm on 12/3 stable. Plane ride was no fun, but gps cold lock in new city in 30 sec at 70mph :)

Well Im basically to where I was this time yesterday back with DJ05, back with clean rom .7 and back with OTB1200v5.02. Here's the silver lining when it was time to re-install my apps I looked hard and in the end I went from having 500+mb on my program storage to know less than 200mb. Most of those apps I frankly just didnt use and believe it or not I have not put any of the benchmark stuff on either. Kinda nice being this streamlined.

Another BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG thanks to OMJ for the resurrection of my clockwork.;):D:)

yes sir I have red cwm :D. I did use jt's 12/01 for the conversion back to ext4 and then flashed nemesis' 1.2 just be extra safe

did you try the other flavors? 02 is 1275mv whereas 04 is 1300mv. That extra 25mv might stabilize you

i dont think it was the uv that does it but idk...i guess i *could* try 0.4 but it seems like those who used both (you included) seemed to think 0.2 was a tad better as well

otb .2 has been pretty damn good to me. I have only gotten the browser crash twice all day.

yeah the browser crashes were far less frequent for me....i think i got 3 over the course of 2 hours of web browsing on the phone :)

I'm still on Dirrk's 1100MHz LV kernel w/boot animation. So that means I have to do a complete lagfix/voodoo uninstall, then flash the new DJ05 kernal?

yeah. You need to flash dj05 radio and rom too. But I'd only do it if you need the gps, phone isn't gonna be much faster or anything.

i mean i would ditch old voodoo just because the code on it is so old and that really its like 3rd or 4th on the pecking order of prefered kernels for stability/speed/features.

it would have be disabled before DJ05 can be flashed yes. check out the dj05 changelog here for more info http://androidforums.com/samsung-fascinate/217803-update-coming-but-not-2-2-a.html

Ok. Now I'm confused. Radio AND rom? I thought I could just completely uninstall voodoo/lagfix then flash the new kernel. And what does it have to do with GPS? My GPS always works fine. I haven't had any of the problems folks complain about with the GPS.

Some of the stock apps that are removed in the clean ROMs are apps I actually use, and I don't have titanium backup yet, so I'd like to hang onto all my apps for the time being if possible. I get the occassional FC on my current setup, and after a few days of use without a reset it will get a hair sluggish, so I'd like to try something new. I'd prefer not to lose the stock apps I use though. I apologize for these stupid questions but I really have been out of the loop for a while.

ah one of the lucky ones with good gps on di01 ;)

you need a dj05 radio file to flash in odin, and there is a stock dj05 deodexed out there if you want bloat apps

I personally wouldn't bother with dj05 if my gps worked on di01. That is the biggest change. It's not faster or anything. You can go through the change log and see if anything else strikes you.

There is a stock rom you can flash of you decide to do it though. Or blackhole and add back the apps you want. Or get them from the system dump.

yeah as for actual improvements in dj05 gps is the biggie for most...however if you are into custom kernels/themes/roms etc virtually nothing is being made for di01 anymore so your kinda stuck with what ya got :)

Both very valid points. When we first went to DJ05 from DI01 I think we all felt the snappiness was an increment down. However by and large for the most part the playing field is once again level. So while its absolutely fine to remain with DI01 if an individual chooses that, DJ05 should no longer be seen as the lower performance build.

My GPS has always worked fine. Even stock. I'm going to go out and test it again tomorrow just for fun though. Make sure it still works ... :D

If it does, I'll just join the camp of 2.2 awaiters.
