Root [ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

And similarly how has the battery life been for people now that you have had the chance to use this rom for a couple of days...

My battery is fine. No I didn't wipe data and cache. If you look in the OP, Fab says that. It's easy. Try it this way first.
 
For my "Corporate Sync" (i.e., Exchange) account, all Contacts fields aren't syncing in Apex 1.3.

Particularly, the phnoe number, address and notes are missing. Only the name, email, work position and url appear to sync.

Anyone know of a workaround?
 
well crap, I sbf 2.2 no problem, downloaded update (I thought), rooted Z4 no problem, installed Apex1.3.0 no problem. Been setting everythong up and happen to check system updates and yep didn't get the update. What do I need to do to get back to stock. Unroot, flash SBF 2.2 and redo the download? Crap, Crap, Crap

Don't install this ApeX 1.3 over the 2.2 sbf (2.3.15). You must sbf upgrade your rom to 2.3.320, then install this rom, which takes you to 2.3.340. Ok?

Question - where is the hotspot app? How can I get it back? I use that instead of wifi tether because my work doesn't permit adhoc connections.

Thanks for the heads up about Handcent. I was having issues sending MMS and thought it was an ApeX issue. Picutes send just fine with the stock massaging app.

To get the 3G Hotspot, you need to get it from the Removed apps zip from the first couple of posts. I believe it's called Mynet.apk.

Uhhh Steven, I'm already there. I thought I had updated to 2.3.340 so I installed Apex. No Brick. What should I do? Uninstall Apex? Can't i just go back to SBF 2.2 get the 2.3.340 OTA, then root, then reinstall Apex 1.3
 
Steven I'm having trouble identifying the sbf necessary. The site I'm sent to has like seven Mirror sites and they all seem to have a different file. How large should this file be?
 
Just an fyi, I've tried multiple attempts to load the revolution 1.2 theme over apex 1.3 sbf'ing each time first and have gotten multiple fc's on launcher pro and other programs. Apex 1.3 works fine though.

Steven, thanks I am downloading right now. Looks like a 3 hour download. The more I look at this I don't think I ever got the Apex rom installed. So basically I was rooted with 2.2.

I really appreciate your help. Probably betomorrow before I ge this thing done.

I just tried to use the uninstall command without success.

uninstall BackupAssistantClient.apk

Terminal says file not found. Im stumped.
 
So im running. 2.3.15 or is it 2.1.15? I forget.

But my question is.. if I want to hop over to. 340
should I sbf using rsd life 4.7??
or flash. 320 then go to. 340

Im confused because of this whole kernel thing and I want to make sure I have the newest kernel.

Can anyone please clarify this?
Id love to be running the most current apex

If you are on 2.3.15 with no ROM, just OTA then install the new Apex.

That's what I did and should be the easiest way and should get you the new bootloader, kernel, and radio, I believe...everything team blackhat is putting out in those updates all in one.

EDIT: yeah, if you're not on a ROM, you dont need to sbf, just take the OTA update
 
Here is a silly question. So after you install/uninstall using Fab's terminal, can I get delete that item from my sdcard? I would really like to keep sdcard for multimedia and phone 8gb for apps and such.

For example, once I install goodies, can I delete that zip file? Another example, if I get a random apk, install it (using Rom manager or terminal??), can I delete it from sdcard as well?

I installed Revo theme and it works great. I did not wipe/clear anything just installed over the top of 1.3. Didn't notice any leftovers from GB theme in 1.3 after install. One thing I noticed is there are new 5% and 15% battery icons in 1.3 but they are not in Revo theme so you lose those increments. I imagine NexTheme is the same way if Fab hasn't changed those yet.

Rockaholic, if you have any force closes after revo install just go to settings/applications/manage applications/all and clear cache and data for the app that's fc'ing. I had to do that with gmail and then it worked fine.
 
So i found that if i use handcent the pictures wont send but if i use regular messaging app they send just fine. Not a big deal just letting you guys know if you had the same problem. Also recently i've been having a google.framwork error i think and gets rid of my contacts till battery pull.

Soooo is that a known issue??? I have the same problem... I even clear the cashe...etc but won't send :(


can anyone confirm that please??? FAB!!! :D
