I am selling my Fascinate as soon as my DINC arrives tomorrow. Its a given that the F has a bigger and brighter screen.... but in my experience with the phone there are some glaring issues.
- It takes FOREVER for the GPS to locate you.
- The overall system is laggy and sluggish. You can count to 3 before the screen changes from portrait to landscape and visa-versa. Apps launch slowly. Its hard to believe there's a 1Ghz processor in the phone.
Did a major double take, and had to reread this. I thought it said something slightly different. LOLMy girl's Vibrant, when fully charged, can last about 28-30 hours.
My wife has a Dare for almost 3 years. My wife is not a phone geek at all, she could keep her Dare forever(lol). Her birthday is coming this Oct 24. I have been thinking of updating her phone. I just got an X myself. She likes it a lot. Her niece also has the Dinc and she told me she would like the Dinc. I am also considering the Fascinate which will be out by then.
The galaxy s without a doubt. It blows the incredible hardware out of the water. The only thing is that it doesn't have a flash but I hear it takes good low light photos and videos
I don't know about anyone else, but as far as I'm concerned, the 3.7" screen of the Incredible is the largest I want to go. The EVO, X, and Fascinate are just too big, and I won't even consider them. Kind of like the difference between a 14.1" laptop, and a 15.4". The 14.1" is the largest I want to go, it's just on the breaking line, anything above it is just too awkward.

The samsung fascinate does have a flash
I talked to the VZ store rep today and his feeling is that the SF may not get a software update for whatever reason. Could be stuck on 2.1. Also pointed out that 1. it's not uncommon for new apps not to run on it when they run fine on the Inc. and 2. it is slower to respond to voice commands or find directions even after installing google maps. These aren't necessarily deal breakers but what's your experience?I had the amoled inc and the sf has a better screen. The draw back on the sf is that it is running 2.1. Simultaneous voice and data on Verizon is only possible if there is a wifi hotspot to connect to.

One other difference I discovered today - SF doesn't see to support Flash content on webs while the Inc does. True? Any way to fix that?
Also, which phone would be more likely to get 2.3? I know it is not a definite thing for any phones, but is samsung good about supporting its phones?
The Fascinate doesn't even have 2.2 yet. Samsung has been promising Froyo since before the galaxies S came out in July/August, and still nothing. Granted, I'm pretty confident that both phones will get it eventually, the fact is that HTC stands by their phones, Samsung doesn't. As a former Behold 2 owner, I can attest to that.
As far as what I would do, I'd keep the Incredible. Mostly because I hate, hate, hate TouchWiz (and my previous experience with a Samsung smartphone).

It will be upgraded directly to 2.3 which is already running on the nexus s
No. The sf runs on 2.1. The only workaround is skyfire which is a poor solution. It will be upgraded directly to 2.3 which is already running on the nexus s. That is essentially the same phone save for the gsm radio.
EDIT: I forgot Bing. Samsung should be ashamed for what they did to android with that.
