[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

is it a stretch to think that the "you want HD entertainment" could mean HD display? there was the german rumor of 1280x800 display. i know it is ridiculous to have that kind of resolution on a small device but damn that would be pretty beast if it did.

the way some of verizon launches go and how they are always a little late to release, wouldnt it suck ass if this phone htc is boasting has all the goodies we want but is for att, sprint, tmob. lol.

How's that Fascninate working out?

I'm quite happy with my Dinc - for now anyway - not missing my OG at all.:D
Amazing what the additional bit of RAM will do to performance!

I'm going to get the Thunderbolt for sure for my wife's birthday in February (if it's out by then).

Right now, what I'm mostly interested in spec-wise is being able to best the iPhone 4 with screen size, video and camera specs, and with display qualities. I just got spanked yesterday by a fanboy showing off the Retina display, and truthfully, it did have absolutely stunning pics and video, and it put my Dinc to shame (I know, I know -- year old technology). I want to get even with the Thunderbolt if the specs are there.

Doing just fine with the fascinate :). I've picked up a few more devices (tablets) and so my Android cravings have been more than cured for the time being. Having said that...I'm obviously still watching this thread and will be paying attention to all the upcoming phone announcements and releases.

Every leak of this phone that I have seen has Verizon branding..

I'm pretty sure this has been confirmed by one of Big Red's engineers.

its has to a VZW phone, its the "first to 4G again" slogan wouldnt fit otherwise. And i cant see it being another phone. I guess the slider phone that never happened like Miami mentioned, but that is the only other HTC device known about i think. I would hope its not that one

It would have to be the evoi like phone I couldn't see them wasting irst to 4g again on the merge(slider phone) when this has better specs and would most likely sell more

Not a deal breaker for me. I am always getting new phones. Right now I want the new sense and bigger screen. I personally do not care about the processor.

Someone commented on this story making a very valid point:
The ARM v7 processor that I know of that supports LTE is the MSM8960. I don't think there are any single cores 1Ghz processors that support LTE, CDMA2000, and EV-DO (all the revs). Plus this tip is too general. If your source is so trusty, they'd reveal a little more than a clock speed and an instruction set (ARMv7).

I don't buy it. I'll wait until CES for the truth, not some more "insider" tip.

Agreed. Being 3 days away from a full unveiling, it's pointless to even pay attention to rumors/heresay/"tips" anymore. Assuming this thing will be revealed at CES, we'll at least have key points and specs released if not a full spec list.

1Ghz processor, and full friggin year later? FAIL! Both LG and Moto will be announcing their LTE phones, but with dual core processors, yet HTC says, "It’s not your dream phone. It’s the one after that" lmao. This phone has LTE, but old technology, and they have the nerve to say, its the phone AFTER your dream phone? lol. Hilarious.

Oh yeah, and check this out. According to the latest rumor, because this phone doesn't have a dual-core processor, it appears it won't be getting Honeycomb at all!

Motorola, here I come.

The sngle core processor is definetly not a deal breaker for me. I have no speed issues with my Incredible and if you've used a rooted G2 the thing flies . I would have like a dual core mainly for better power consumption but I'm pretty happy with my 1ghz Snapdragon as is now . The biggest thing I want is a bigger screen I loved typing on my Fascinate and using friends EVOs the screen is just the perfect size for my hands . I struggle a bit sometimes with the 3.7in screen

Read the article. It will only be a requirement for TABLETS.

Yeah, I read the article, and it didn't say "only a requirement for tablets". The article itself just happened to be just talking about tablets. However, one could think that since its still the Android OS, that it would apply to the android smartphones. And even if it doesn't, if the HTC Thunderbolt is released with a 1Ghz processor, that was released in the U.S in January of LAST year, that's just not cool. When I buy my next "Dream phone", it should be advanced in technology, not just stay the same, especially when competitors like Moto and LG are using advanced technology in their hardware.

OMG, i cannot wait!!! i am so excited. I dont think it has to be dual core for me to buy. if it has all the other goodies, im pretty sure ill get it. i do not think it will have the v7 single core at 1ghz. if it did, i might have to think hard about it. the best thing is that my wife has been waiting forever to get the merge, it will be her first smart phone. she has had the lg envy2 for a long long time. We have one upgrade until next year. she said i could get the new phone and she will take my Dinc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now four more days until i can see what i can get. at least we have a date! i remember going freaking nuts about the damn incredible. i was literally getting pissed.

YOU state "This phone will not be getting Honeycomb". Completely false. Please kindly edit your post.
