Root [ROM] GummyJAR 2.5 - 12/28/10

Ok so I'm no having a problem. But is there a way to edit facebook contacts? I try to edit a contact that I've sync'd with facebook, and it will tell me my phone can't do that. Any help will be awesome.

Installed from ApeX 1.3.1 as per the instructions on XDA forums. So far, so good! Loving the speed and smoothness of the ROM so far. Its really quick, so Im enjoying that.

Things that bother me a bit are.

Haptic Feedback not working in the dialer.
Camera is blurry, but not a deal breaker for me.
Sup with two different Gallery's? (Again not a big deal).

Other than that, so far so good. Will know more in the coming days of course. If anyone know of a fix (especially for the haptic feedback not working in the dialer) it would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Hey guys i just want to say thank you. I needed your advice and you came through for me. I had no idea the battery issue then the sbf. You guys are awesome i got my phone back to normal. I had to sbf the new release and it worked great. Took me a while to figure it all out because i am not great with computers and my area only has sattalite internet so surfing and downloading took forever. I thought my phone was bricked for sure but it isnt. thank you again.

I don't have an answer for that one...

Camera is blurry, but not a deal breaker for me.
Switch back to the old moto camera app. Link to update file can be found here: xda-developers - View Single Post - [ROM] Rolling Rolling Rolling GummyJAR just keep a rolling aha... 2.5 12/28

There were a lot of requests for the old 2D gallery as the 3D gallery can be quite slow depending on the number of images on your DX. If you want to remove one of them (either the 2D or 3D), simply rename or delete from /system/app. The files are: Gallery.apk and Gallery3D.apk

Hope this helps!

Trooper, I always keep a stock nandroid to go to ROMs from.. not sure how coming from Apex will go. Let us know :]

It's kinda funny because I was never told to do it this way, or I probably would be. I flashed Apex directly from Ultimate Droid, GummyJAR straight from Apex, Rubix straight from GummyJar, and straight back to GummyJAR again from Rubix.

Like I said earlier, I do a factory reset before I flash anything. I guess thats how I got away without any problems not flashing from the stock ROM?

I've flashed new ROM's on top of other ROM , never had any issues whatsoever (knock on wood) so far :D

Thanks for the link and the information regarding the camera. I will probably give that a go! I know the 2D gallery is faster, but just weird having two different galleries. Understand why he did it though.

As for the lack of haptic feedback in the dialer, bummer. Maybe I will just do what I normally have to do for everything to play nice. Factory reset and install everything manually.

Thanks again. If you hear of anything for the dialer issue, please let me know!

Also, battery info is wrong I noticed today. Says I have 50% signal loss and that my phone has been on for way longer than it has haha. Time to try wiping battery stats in recovery me thinks. But again, may have to do a factory reset, boo.

I have the same problem, all my contacts that were linked with Facebook are "not editable".

Sorry if I missed a reply to this issue already....

I think that is a drawback of an AOSP ROM, edit the contact, then join the existing contact with a facebook contact.

I don't know if I'm missing something...The only thing I can do is delete the old contact, and make a new one; I still won't be able to link to Facebook though, because there is no longer an option that lets me link contacts.

Wiping battery stats did not fix the problem. Looks like I have to factory reset.

I'm convinced that the reason I have had so much success with this ROM is because I SBF'd before I loaded GummyJAR 1.9 and then migrated with ease to 2.1 and then 2.5.

That said, now that you have GummyJAR loaded, I agree that a factory reset is probably the answer to your problems. :)

Just did a factory reset and both problems are still present. Bummer. That being no haptic feedback with the dialer and battery stats being out of whack.

I can live with the battery stats being off for now, but lack of haptic feedback may be a deal breaker for me. If so, may roll back to ApeX for now.

I'll pm the dev about the haptic feedback issue and get back to you... But I don't know what to tell you about your battery stats (mine are right on).

I can report that there is no haptic feedback in my dialer either - I just never noticed it before. Not an issue for me.

Thanks! Looking forward to his response.

Good to know its not just me

The battery will calibrate itself with a partial charge or two.

Thanks! Will wait a few days to see how it goes.

Just a quick GJ question... I have 2.5 installed and i noticed no microphone in the keyboard like i used to have and when i launch the navigation app (google) there is no "speak destination" option like there used to be... is this something i can just add in?
