Root [ROM] GummyJAR 2.5 - 12/28/10

I am trying to install Swype but even though I have selected it, under the Keyboard tab in Menu, it still is the regular keyboard..
 
Haha, so that worked? I actually love the gingerbread keyboard for typing when I swore I would never peck away again after using swype...I haven't gone back to swype since!

Its a Linux thing if I remember correctly. I think it makes the file(s) writeable. Someone please correct me if Im wrong.

Only need to do that if the ROM developer has it included in their installation instructions.
 
I only remember seeing it there in ZapX. I flashed Apex and don't remember mounting my system first, but I may have forgotten that I did.

The only time I have ever mounted my system was while flashing a theme.
 
Do you have a stock ROM nandroid you can flash? If so you should be able to take the OTA update and then you'll be good to upload GummyJAR 2.5 and flash it.

If not, then you might be able to find the .340 update on the Team Black Hat app. Have you downloaded it off the market yet? If not I'd suggest doing so. Lots of goodies in that app.

I wish! Unfortunately the dev said that they will not be including it as it is not AOSP (and it actually integrates into framework.jar). That said, I am working on making that request a reality. Mostly self-serving cause I like the predictive dialer as well. Stay tuned... :D
 
Well you could nandroid your current ROM and then SBF back to stock. Then accept the update. Or try that TeamBlackHat app and update to .340 from there without having to go back to the stock ROM.
 
So, no one has a solution to the exchange problem? I don't want to pay $20 for touchdown. :( iPhones can connect with no problem at all, and the default moto email app connected fine (even though it's a pile of crap.)

Thanks man. Appreciate your help in getting the dev to help with the dialer issue. Loving this ROM so far! Will hope for the best for the future!
 
Applied GJ 2.5 over a clean base and it's working great! really fast and snappy. I missed having the moto gallery/camera so I applied them from my fission add-on folder. I then applied the black market theme and its working very nicely. Don't really see much difference between this and fission though TBH.

Isn't Fission trying to go with the least amount (or none at all) blur as possible? I liked Fission, but it didn't seem like it got as good of battery life as Apex.. so I went with Apex. Then I tried this one, and it both flies (lack of any blur) and has superb battery life, so it's been a quick winner.
 
My belief was that Tranquility was the closest ROM to GummyJAR. That's why I wanted to flash Tranq and see how I liked it. Then I saw a few comments about how it's not the most stable ROM going. Maybe I will flash it anyhow and see how my phone reacts to it. After all, no two phones are exactly alike!

I remember seeing a ROM that you could choose to include blur or not. Is that Fission? If so, perhaps the nonblur version is a lot like GummyJAR?

Team Defuse is releasing a new ROM shortly called Fused that has the fission base but with Blur package add-ons. I think the one your thinking of is chevy SSX.
 
Is there a way we can get the different modes of the camera back? I don't have the ability to take a panoramic pic, multishot, etc. anymore.
 
If you flash this file that I uploaded to mediafire here it will overwrite the AOSP camera with the original Blur camera which is waaaay better.
