Root Anybody running CM7 source?

I would flash it, but there are still too many bugs to deal with.

I will be keeping an eye on this one too as CyanogenMod is by far my favorite ROM, and Gingerbread CyanogenMod is exactly what I'm waiting for. ;)

Gotta be honest, it feels like it could become my final Rom. Just has that 'Rom To End All Roms' kinda thing going for it so long as the DI development stays a priority. And it is by the look of it. It's really quite debugged for being this early in development. I think they already have some things fixed that aren't in the last release. I'm thinking we'll have a stable in fairly short order, hopefully I'm not being overly optimistic.

I've always been impressed with CyanogenMod ROMs. They always have tweaks and very cool features not found in other ROMs, yet it's not all loaded down with useless crap. They are very smooth and fast with the right kernel.

All incarnations of CyanogenMod have played well with my OG Droid and now my Dinc, allbeit, it is even better with my Dinc. That's not to say there aren't other excellent ROMs - there are a few other *elites* and some very good ones out there - but something about CyanogenMod resinates with me. I was a *ROM-whore* when I had my OG, flashing everything that came out, then going back to CyanogenMod, but with my Dinc, I'm staying with CyanogenMod. Just waiting for them to put the finishing touches on Gingerbread, and then I'll be ALL OVER IT! :D

Geez them are some strong words! You sound like me a few years ago when i was waiting on the release of the first Blackberry Storm lol

I am always bullish about new CM Roms, but they always seem to be just a little bit off from what would be perfection. I installed #28 and #29 yesterday. I like the base, but it needs a lot of work.

Yeah, that's why I try to stick with CM versions that are almost perfect. I don't have the patience right now for anything that needs a lot of work.

x2!

But it seems like they all get VERY close to perfection, then jump ship and go make something else lol

That's what I'm worried about but this time they're way ahead of the curve. They didnt' have much working on Froyo until way late in the game. Hell, GB isn't even on the radar yet to the masses.

Anybody tried #30, heard it's much more smooth. Assuming still with Invisiblek 28.

I have not flashed it yet because I have to go out of town. I will try when I get back. Too bad OMGB is not getting updated anymore, because i love OMGB6. I see they are already on #35 on CM7! any one try it? Any better than OMGB6?

Yea this here pissed me off when i read it (on your post)

do you have any confirmation or link to a thread? Or is this based on the fact it hasn't been updated?

I have tried #28, #29 and #32. not even close to usable for me yet.
Also, I am sure this is not top of the list for development, but any ROM w/o a battery % indicator is an automatic no for me.

Sorry for not posting any source guys. No it's not my opinion, just what everyone over at XDA forums keep talking about. Figured there was something that I missed. Basically the talk over there is that there won't be any updates for OMGB anymore. Believe me, I would love to stick with OMGB, but it seemed as most people over there feel its done for now. I hope they are wrong. My apologies if I was jumping to conclusions on that post!

All good? :D

No, that's fine, but the way I read it was there would be no more development for omgb and now it would be called omfgb done by the same dev.

I hope your right. I really like this rom. Don't want to piss anyone off here lol, we're all here for the same reason. I'm planning on testing out cm7 once it gets a little more stable.I've been using omgb6 as my daily driver for a week and a half and its amazing.

I don't wanna come in here and sound like "Mr. Know-it-all" but I think you guys are wayyy off-base.

Here's the website you should be flashing the builds from:

dirLIST - Index of: home/

Ever since build #33 these are absolutely perfect except for camcorder not working. (It will be working in the next build [#37])

Let me repeat myself. If you flash the newest build as of this post, #36, you will be running basically absolutely perfect Gingerbread on your Dinc. Leaps and bounds better than OMGB or that other Evervol build.

I've been flashing these builds one after another for the past 3 days. Just keeps getting faster and smoother. Gingerbread CM7 FTW.

Yeah, I posted the xda link so people could see the discussion surrounding the various builds. The link in the OP of that thread is the same one you posted. Sounds very promising if only I could get some of these irons out of the fire and get to flashing. :)

It seems like they release so often tho, dont they? 1 or 2 a day it seems.

I guess those must be bugs or tweaks in each release?

Yes, gridlock is compiling the builds and is very active on that xda thread.

He said that each time he does a build it's for a worthwhile reason, whether behind the scenes or not.

Then slayher came and said that the camcorder bug is fixed, so now we're just waiting for Gridlock to put it in the next (hopefully) build. I've been flashing right on top of each other since #33, so no need to wipe.

Make backups just in case obviously.

Ok. #36 is really good. Probably the best Gingerbread Rom out there right now. Though I am still annoyed with the lack of battery % indicator.
