Well that sucks that he can't get it working now but I'm sure a lot of people will still be happy with a fully functional froyo which looks to be not to far away. Then you never know after froyo is good to go all the devs may be able to put their heads together and come up with an idea on gb ( I know I have wishful thinking but ya never know)

This is promising. When I was trying to post a screencap tinypic kept crashing my browser too. Man as soon as flash is stable I'm flashing this rom for good. I was loving CyanogenMOD too.

I didn't have any problem on the other aosp but Kaosinate it won't, at least not with titanium. If I do app only it succeeds but there is nothing in the app drawer. If I try app+data or data only it fails to restore. weird maybe I'll try Mybackup next time.

My understanding is that ADW is AOSP also and can be distributed. There is no reason you can't remove it. Is it even installed as a system app?
 
I think devs like ADW because it is open source.

Regarding the game restore, maybe try dl'ing the app from market then restoring only data

Whats the big secret? Its an app Just install the one you want and make it your default, uninstall the old one. Is it even a system app? if it is delete it with root explorer if not just uninstall it.

Are you talking about ADW? I installed LauncherPro but didn't want 2 launchers running on the phone. The task manager I'm used to didn't work in CyanogenMOD and I couldn't find ADW to uninstall in app management. I'll assume I have to use the method described in the thread link Saps posted. I'm still a root noobie so I'm still finding my way around.

You'll need Root Explorer or some other Directory utility that can access the system/app draw and you'll have to make it r/w read/write able to delete it.

But even if you don't remove it its not running once you change the defaults the one you install runs. I have like 6 launcher on my phone and they all aren't running.

Yeah it works obviously. Im think Im set now. I dont see myself returning to 2.1 now. Wifi and BT are so close it seems and then Im 90% good to go

cool...the nonstop browser crashes and not mounting sdcard are too much for me though

im sure by next weekend ill be on it for good :)

Yeah you'll need RE as you guys said below. No renaming needs after you have LP in system/app just delete the adw if you know you'll never use it no sense having it there taking up space

True. Wow 6 launchers do you actually toggle between them all on a daily basis? Im content with just one, LP+

Yes as aforementioned you need RE and once you do this whole thing takes half a minute

Yeah that sdcard thing is inconvenient for sure but its something I can at least work around for a few days. I havent had a single brower crash myself tonight or this morning. Only was on it like 10-15 minutes though.

Thats why I asked what the adw love affair was all about. And its regular adw too not ex which some seem to prefer. Anyway, whatever Im a LP guy so thats what I use others can use what they want. The beauty of android after all is choice

i think because ex is now pay in the market they stopped using the demo version for roms
 
I haven't used Launcher 2, but is adw more customizable than Launcher 2? I loaded CyanogenMod 6.1 on my Incredible, and then just switched over to ADWEX. I'm actually running the OMGB-6 on my Incredible now and I can't find any ADW, so I'm thinking that I'm using Launcher 2?

Imo launcher 2 is inferior to even old adw....but it gives me that warm aosp feeling. :)
 
I don't even know how he's doing this because I thought we needed CDMA-Froyo source to do it.

I'm in awe of his efforts and once I switch to a close-to-final build, will be buying him a beer. I hope everyone else does the same. We need to let our devs know how much we appreciate their work. My friends are devs so I understand.

Personally, I need wifi, 3G, GPS, BT, and camera to be working, but the major thing holding me back from even trying this is the inability to boot into CWM and run nandroids.
