Root Alpha Froyo from Punk Kaos

I would like to be able to mount th sdcard as well sometimesoon...it is a pita to boot to recovery and push files.:)
 
"Unfortunately" I'm traveling for a week starting tomorrow so I can't let myself run an alpha, need my phone fully functional :) On the bright side, expecting great things when I return...
 
Well as if he was doing it just for me Kaos apparently has BT now working though he wants testing confirmation. That also seems to be the only change of note from v2 to v3. So like a good foot solider [ya like that one nitsuj17 - Welker ;)] Im finally a jumping. Shame that Im two minutes from out the door but assuredly this is getting flashed on when I get back home. Oddly PK didnt update the xda page with the new links. Im tempted to just throw them up right here but I suppose maybe he had a reason for this release just being on irc atm. Thus I wont, sorry you guys know me; even back from kernel testing days I wouldnt share links till I had consent from creator. I aint no wozzy ;)

yeah the browser crashes were getting too much for me atm...so i went back to dj05...ive had my fun playing around with it....but i need it to be more functional (at least old 2.1 aosp functional) before i commit to it

the no adb/no mounting sdcard with android booted is a bit rough

but im very thankful for all the progress pk has made...truly a godsend for our community
 
PK didnt officially release rom v3 because he wanted some tester on BT and [for me] sadly the BT pairs but doesnt connect so v3 really is just v2. Might never see an official post on xda or wherever. Still stuff continues to move along in the right direction. But by all means a sdcard that mounts and stable recovery is essential. Till then sadly I think Im still just going to watch. I need my phone working

working phone is "kind of" important :eek:
 
well from his tweets, seems like BT is a pain in the ass to tweak. As much as I want to jump on in (i don't use BT at all as of now), a stable recovery feels most important to me atm

Yeah for some reason you can't restore angry birds :( It can't restore the data and even though it says it restored the app it isn't there. :cool:
Fix it! :p I didn't try installing it has anyone else?

That's odd, I restored my games fine on the old Eclair AOSP. Guess you could try installing it then just restoring data

Finally did it despite the lack of BT, its pretty nice as is. I still dont get why the dev's like adw so much. Ugh. I just hope I can get rid of adw the way we did tw and plop lp in the system app

Wait how are you getting rid of ADW in other roms? I prefer LP also but have been rolling with ADW just to avoid running 3 homes..
 
I would like to know how you get rid of adw also. And how is the browser/flash performance in v3 Saps are you getting crashes? What about swype and usb connect?

Yeah guys its actually exactly the same as before. The better news is I didnt even get FC's either. Im pure LP+ now. So instead of goodbye touchwiz its goodbye adw http://androidforums.com/fascinate-all-things-root/205635-goodbye-touchwiz.html

I guess shootme or drocap2 works now. :)....they would just crash on me in v2....and using ddms was obviously out if you couldn't mount

But always great to see more and more steady progress...,i have a feeling by the end of the week i could be on kaosinate for good. :)

bad news on the gb front though :(...birdman said there is really no way for him to get the radio working without samsung releases gb code for us

so now it looks dead unless he has some sort of miraculous break through....but he did indicate a lot of things from the .35 kernel can be backported so alls not in vain
