[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

Why would BB need demo phones when the launch phones will be all gone due to preorders? Demo phones arrival at BB on the 27th must be post launch

Why would best buy need demo phones for a launch product? Come on. Because the average person wants to hold and play with an electronic device before they pay several hundred dollars for it. And no, the "well, there's no restocking fee!" argument is ridiculous (not saying you used it, just saying).

It's not about the free return, it's about the hassle of the return. I don't want to buy something that I can't use to see if all the video hands-on and blogger accounts of the pre-launch units are accurate.

I don't see how that's in any way illogical.

You can test drive a car before you buy it.

You can play with the iPad at the Apple store before you buy one.

You can generally try on clothes before you buy them. You can certainly try on shoes.

You can generally play with most laptops before you buy them.

Why should phones be any different? Seriously, set aside ONE unit for demo per store. I would hardly consider it something that would cause a shortage (e.g. having one less unit for sale).

I think he was saying that if the demo phones arrive at BB on the 27th and the launch is the 24th...the demo phones would be late.

No he was right but he also stated the obvious...I was just questioning the necessity of a having a demo phone on launch day when the phone will most likely sell out if there is a demo or not.

I am not holding my breath for 24th release date, I expect it in my hands on the 28th

As I said in another thread, when the Aspire came out last weekend we had NO demo units at best buy.

We got them in the day after the release.

Looks like BB and Verizon have been eyeing these forums and the amount of people that are thinking 1 year contract. This is just rubbing it in our faces.

We should burn them somehow. Boycott or something. Have major sites give the phone a low score due to high price.

Can't predict something that wasnt yours to call. Said march an NO one wanted to listen to me. Pushing up device launch for hype. Not smart

$299 is ******ed.

Someone please tweet at Verizon that there is an outcry of angry folks who will get something else now because of the new contract price.

Tweet Verizon all you want...I'm sure their stock answer will be something along the lines of "We Cannot comment on unreleased phones, but sit tight!"

Ladies and Gentlemen... Verizon updated their Xoom page overnight to reflect a release date of 2/24. I think we can all figure out what that means, but just to be sure I spoke with a Verizon rep and the official company line is that the Thunderbolt will be released sometime "in the next month"

I hope to see you all again, but unless it's on the Inspire or EVO forums, it's looking highly doubtful. You're a great group of people, but I think it's time to move on to where I'm treated with respect. I really don't think it's asking a company TOO MUCH to provide some information on it's products. We've all been signed up to the release email for almost two months now. Has anyone gotten ANY communication about this phone? When the landing page changed, did they feel the need to inform you?

$275 is worth it to be out from under the thumb of this arrogant, inept corporation.

Good luck in your eternal wait. Maybe I'll stop in from time to time...

Adios Amiga, I will be waiting this one out. I am in for the long haul!

I think we all need to come to grips with the fact that it will be mid-March before we see this thing.

Yeah, I am not sure what people are mad about. Verizon has never said when it would release the phone. That wasn't an accident, this being a first gen device (LTE) they want to make absolutely sure that it is ready for prime time. I actually don't mind it push backed.... more choices. I am not completely sold on the Thunderbolt yet, I would like to compare it to something else. I am hoping the LG Revolution, Sammy's device or the Bionic make it out shortly. I would love to compare them all and make a decision. If the Thunderbolt comes out a month before the rest I will be getting it.
