Release date ? (BBY Xoom page active as of 2/20)

I pre-ordered mine this morning as well. Store opened @ 11:00 and I walked right up to the mobile department. They knew exactly what I was talking about and pulled the pre-order notebook out from a locked cabinet behind the desk. It had tabs for the Xoom and the Thunderbolt. They verified my contact info in the BB system and filled out the pre-order form in the notebook and said they would contact me when it comes in. I didn't ask about accessories - I have the 25% off coupon for the Moto store through 3/15. I was in and out in 10 minutes. There wasn't anyone else there pre-ordering the Xoom - not suprising since there hasn't been much mainstream press about it. That should change once the reviews start coming in this week.
 
Went to bestbuy just see if they had anything up for the xoom, nothing.. and didn't want to pre-order from them. Went to Verizon, one guy asked "xoom? I don't know anything about it" he sent me to the manager or whoever and he said " that's a tablet? We probably wont have it for a month" he was genuinely confused when I said it was due out thursday but told me I wont have a problem getting one lol. Ill just show up thursday at 9am... doubt they'll run out
 
Pre-order done, picking mine up after work on Thursday in TAX FREE Delaware! (def. worth my 40 min ride from Philly!)
 
I know it's been brought up before but since Verizon hasn't said a thing -- I'm wondering if they're even selling them on the 24th. Just seems odd that it's been so quiet over there.
 
I tried to pre-order one from my BB, but I was told that they were back-ordered and that they weren't taking any more pre-orders. I'm beginning to think that the person I asked didn't know what I was talking about though, cause she went "the X zero zero M?" before she told me that. I'd go back, but I have a paper to write.
 
I pre-ordered mine today. $50 gift card redeemable towards Xoom on Thursday. I ordered mine around 1:00. They said I was the only person all day that had asked about them.
 
Just preordered in Seattle. I was the third at the best buy I went to. I hate myself for being a slave to new gadgets lol.

Btw, anyone want to buy a 32 gb iPad?
 
Also, a point of FYI. When I first asked about it, the salesman said he knew what they were and tried to let me pre-order but couldn't do it. He found the manager who went into the back and came out with a printed pre-order paper. I asked when they'd be on display and he said they have them now, but they won't be allowed to put them out to play with until Tuesday. I said GREAT I'll be here Tuesday to pick it up. He laughed and said "nice try". He said they can' release them until Thursday at 10:00 when they open. So I left with my $50 gift card and piece of paper with bar codes on it. Waiting for Tuesday to go play and Thursday to get my own.
 
baah. imma wait until thursday.. seeing it before then is like going into the closet where your parents hid your Christmas gifts and playing with them before santa actually drops them off. :D i want the 100% full effect on thursday.. :D
 
Yeah I went and bought mine today as well! I bought the $50 pre-order gift card, then had the guy ring up a $799 purchase to see what the tax and all would come to and it was $847. I had him put the $50 dollars on the pre-order gift card as well as another $25 from a gift card I had from my birthday and $777 on a different gift card and now when I go there after they "call me when it's in" I just give them the gift card and they give me a Xoom!!! Now if only I could just fall into a coma for the next week I'd be fine!! Man half the battle over but the waiting has just begun!
 
GUYS! Same experience you all had... first person had no clue what I was talking about. Then I was directed to the computer dept. where I got the slip, then I had to wait 10 min while the cust serv rep found out if it was ok for him to give me the 50 gift card but it was all worth it! My xoom will be waiting for me on Thursday!

BTW I feel all giddy like a kid on x-mas eve. So pumped to get that moto quality with that honeycomb goodness.

PS - Me and the Gal are going to Vegas in May for quite an expensive trip... Shes gonna be anngryyy when she finds out i got this but.. I couldnt resist guys.. right?? And to top it off i had a $200 best buy gift card sitting around.. had to use the damn thing.
 
Wait, $200 gift card..... sitting around? Seriously? I sold scrap metal to get the money for this thing. Just sitting around? Killing me! Feel ya though on the giddy christmas eve feeling.
 
Preordered mine this morning, too. Scarily they actually knew about it and brought me back to the Magnolia room to fill out the pre-order sheet. They said I was the second one (um, I was there 10 minutes after they opened and stood in line for like 15 minutes...no one in front of me ordered one. Odd.). I have a couple gift cards I was saving for a Bionic, but, I think I'm gonna use them on this on Thursday. I also got half of it for my b-day yesterday from my wife. (She rocks). I really can't wait!

Hmm, that's strange. I was the second one to preorder in my local store. I asked my rep if I should check mark what I wanted and he said, "No". He told me I can do that when I come in to pick it up. So I left them all blank and he took the slip away.

Also, my guy was kind of vague about how I will be picking it up. He said they would call me and I told him I would come in on Thursday; And he says, "I'm sure we will have more than 2 available on Thursday."

I guess he doesn't think there will be more than me and the first guy to preorder the Xoom.
 
So I just went back to my Best Buy to try again, and this time talked to someone who knew exactly what I was taking about and got me out off there in like 5 minutes with my pre-order done. I was number 5, so here's hoping that come Thursday, I'll get my new toy!
 
You should my bestbuy already had them in the back just waiting till 24 when the can start selling them. They told me they had 5 in stock i wonder if i was only one pre order and other 4 are for general sales. Seems a rather low number i was assuming at least 30 but maybe at that price they dont see it jumping off shelves either.
