After following these forums for a few weeks now I can honestly say the main reason why this phone was delayed, truly, was the iPhone 4. I am willing to believe that Apple put something in their contract with Verizon that said if their phone sales weren't where they needed to be they had the right to request all new handset launches delayed for "X" amount of time. I highly doubt that there are all these crazy issues or conspiracy theories people are talking about.
Pure speculation and very unlikely in my evaluation. A company like Verizon must deal with a whole variety of phone manufacturers. Sure they courted Apple but they can not let Apple run their company nor dictate launch rules. If there was anything it was 2 weeks max. Furthermore see these news stories.
Verizon CEO refutes claims of low iPhone sales.
Verizon iPhone Preorder Sales Estimate: 500,000 iPhones.
