I could not get the data profile or PRL to update with the Airvana plugged in. Once I disconnected it and went outside (hunting for a signal) I was able to update them both and then turned the Airvana back on and everything is good. I'm wondering if anyone else had to do this too?
Still did not help my phone. Its been since early November since i have gotten any good 3g speeds on sprint's network...
haha yes I have...numerous times. Since it started in November, I probably have spent 30 hours on the phone with them. They have given me 5 phones, 2 refurbs, and 3 new ones, because they kept thinking it was the hardware. And so did I, since my friend's evo works fine, and the evos in the repair center always worked fine too. But it's obviously not, 5 phones would not have the same exact problem. And I can get 3g just fine on my Airave, and just fine when I do the Verizon prl hack. But on sprint, no matter where I go, I normally cannot get above 50kbps.sitlet have you called sprint?
This is kind of what I thought too. At my house, and at both of the places I work, there is a tower less than a block away, so I always get a full signal. I keep telling them this, that there may be a problem with these towers. And they keep putting in trouble tickets, and tell me that an engineer will come out and check, and call me back. Well, they never call me back, and so when I call back they always tell me the Ticket was closed, and nobody came out. I have put in at least 10 of these tickets, and every one has been closed. Just last week however, I talked to a rep who actually knew what he was talking about. He told me that unless 50 or more people in the same area are having problems, AND call in and complain about it, nobody will actually come out and check the towers. Bummer.plus you may have a tower out and they don't even know it. this tower by my work has most likely been out for months
i forgot to turn off 4G
.
Any fixes?
it says that if your on 60675 this won't do anything. Maybe I missed it, but are you saying I should leave the prl at 75, or update to 76 and then run thought the process quoted above? I'm rooted just recently, running amon ra 2.3, haven't flashed a rom or kernel as of yet and I do have ad-free running. Not sure if that means anything, but I noticed it mentioned a couple times above. Always trying to learn, curious what everybody else thinks and if it's something I should think about doing. Always trying to get the best of what a device can do, it's driving the wife nuts
thanks in advanceWelcome to the forums!
You're doing fine, you posted in the right place. Post whatever you need and wherever you think it belongs - if you miss the target, we'll cheerfully move your post to the right place.
Please confirm - do you have the HTC Evo 4G?
Do you have speedtest app or similar telling you that you're getting 36 kbps? (big difference between 36 kbps and 36 kBps - one is bits, the other is bytes)
36 kbps (also known as 36 kb/s) is VERY low.
Hello and thank you for the response~!
Yes, I have an Evo 4g.
Yes, my speeds are that slow. I don't know why.
Right now my speeds are (in Speedtest)
132 kbps download
91 kbps upload
or
.13 Mbps
.09 Mbps
It's incredibly slow. My phone hasn't been dropped or anything. The coverage map says I have 3g all around me. The signal strength widget says
-92 dBm; Ev.
When I first restart it will show TMobile 3g, and then Switch to Sprint Ev. I don't know what to do. The phone is barely over a month old.
