Root [UPDATED 28/12 - NEW INSTALLER] CyanogenMod 7/Android 2.3.4 Is avaliable for GT540!

dude, do you think that the developers could ever fix the xvid/divx codecs? and all of the other bugs??

I'm sure that Mur4ik could fix the codecs, but only time can tell. He's just one person, and works on this project in his spare time; it's not his job and he doesn't get paid for it.. So be patient :)

Yes, I know it's calibration issue.

I find that it might be done with "Touch calibration" app. Just make /data/nv directory.
I did that and after calibration it made file ts_cal in this directory.
This is text fiel and in it is "5687, 16,65617,1,65536".

But screen is still not working as it should.
Maybe it is hardware issue

I doubt it's a hardware issue, when I first got the phone with 1.6, the calibration was perfect..

how do i fix the volume for calls?
i cant hear the other person unless the volume is up max but thats too loud..
any help thanks :)

So, what you are sayin is that other people have this problem also.
This is good it means someone will come with some kind of solution :D

I understand that Mur4ik says: "No calibration of the screen and do not ask when would be." I am not asking him I am asking if anyone have any sollution.

is anyone else havin the problem were the phone switches off sometimes prob 1 or 2 times a day but will not turn on until u remove the battery ???????

it's about the kernel, the optmus one (p500) has some issues with custom roms and it's touchscreen, and to actually make it work, someone had to make a new kernel

nope, try underclocking your phone

i thought that was fixed now, that was some bug in 2.3.2 (1.4b) , i think it fixes itself, when you call another person and you toggle the volume up or down

have tried underclockin had it at 600 mhz for 2 days still same small prob other than that its super smooth only happened since update 1.5 i notice if i overclock to say 880 it will restart by its self so dont think its anythin to do with overclockin :( any other suggestions i would be greatfull thanks

yes it has much to do with overclocking, when you set it at i.e. 880 in your case it reboots,(if i set mine to the max, 900mhz and start a game in about 20 minutes the battery is already at 50% and the phone starts restarting) 'cause the phone can't handle it, overclocking not only increases cpu speed, it increases battery usage, phone temperature, and that damages it, maybe it's the battery, set the speed at max 600mhz and min 245mhz put it at ondemand or powersave

Not sure if other people have the problem, you seem too as well :p Hopfully a solution will come out soon :)

Hmm, that seems odd, do you have many apps installed, that run as services in the background? i.e. GTalk, 3G Watchdog, etc.

i hav it set to min 122mhz max 600mhz past 2 days an still same prob the first thing i taught was over clocking im gettin an average of about 12 / 13 hrs from battery so dont think the phone is under pressure ill prob end up reflashing sure only takes 10 mins :(

ive watchdog/facebook and skype its happing before skype but not sure about watchdog ? i dont understand why the battery needs to be removed before it will restart does that mean hardware or software prob ??

running services on my phone as now avg(1)/applanet(1)/google services (2)market(1)aquarium live wallpaper(1)android keyboard(1) thats all services running right now any ideas ? 32 apps installed had around 120 runnin on 2.2

im readin on xda some people havin same prob im just happy to know its not just my phone :)

sure, if that woks for you, flashing a ROM doesn't always work the first time

...
I am not convinced that this is kernel issue.
There has to be some config files for calibration.

you see, the linux kernel, comes with drivers to make the hardware work, like the desktop version, comes with drivers for modems, this issue, calbiration, differs from, i.e. the camera buttons not working, as the touchscreen drivers, the 3D drivers for the SoC the phone uses, it's CPU, are in the kernel, and not in configuration files.

That's why most ROMs use different kernels on them.

I know a lot about desktop linux. Actualy I know a little about touch screens and drivers on desktop linux.
That is exactly why I wrote that I doubt that this is kernel issue.
Calibration data has to be writen somewhere, as I uderstand "Touch calibration" application put it in /data/nv/ts_cal.
Maybe it will be enough to put it on some other location. Maybe kernel expects it to be somewhere else, in that case it would be enough to put it there also it would mean that no changes to kernel is needed to make this working.

I guess though you would have to assume that the kernel is actually looking for the file in the first place? If it wasn't, that could that be the reason why no-one has pursued getting the calibration working.

But as my phone now thinks its a Nexus S anything could be possible.

Have you tried this file?
