3g didn't work![]()
Nice to see that somebody actually read what the OP asked and answered it.
Anyone try simultaneous voice/data over 3G and/or 4G?
All the replies were answering the OP's question. They asked
First of all, if you are going to quote someone, get the quote correct. He initially asked about 3G then about LTE. No mention of the word "4G" anywhere in the post. That is how I missed it initially.
My apologies, as I did miss where he asked about LTE.

LTE is not doing voice at the moment so it is only for data. So there is no simultaneous data/voice over LTE. Data will be LTE(4G) and voice will be always CDMA(3G). So if you want to test if it does voice/data on 3g (CDMA) you only can test it if you are in a zone where you don't have LTE because you can't switch off LTE.
Right and Wrong
4G is Data Only (Right Now) VoIP coming in the future. This means that both Data and Voice will be simultaneous over 4G.
3G is Data Only. Has been and always will be on Verizon
Voice Is over 1x
With the new Chipset in the Thunderbolt, it can run both 1x and 3G or 4G at the same time.
Not sure of the technical stuff but it can run both streams as one. Think of a Dual Core Processor. Same idea where it can handle two things at once.
