I've been running the Oxygen 2.0.1 Rom for the last few days. Can I just boot into recovery mode and flash this rom in the same way as I did the Oxygen one (wiping the caches) I have a 16gb card with a 1gb EXT3 partition.

What are the main differences between this rom and the Oxygen one. I'm tempted to give it a try.

Most obvious diff would be cyanogen add-ons are included with this one.

You can indeed just flash as any other ROM. Only thing to watch is that Oxygen is very small, so if you are using the Oxygen partition table it won't work - you'll need at least 140 MB /system for this (unless you strip stuff before flashing). But if you've got standard memory partitions (and you'll know if you've changed them) then no problem.

As far as I know I haven't changed any memory partitions. Rooted, partitioned card with gparted and ran Oxygen for the last 2 months since buying the phone. Not a fan of sense, also prefer plain, light, fast roms and to add stuff myself. That way I can try different programs/widgets etc and just remove them if I don't like them. Problem for me is if stuff is built into a rom and you don't like it, it can be awkward to remove so prefer not to have it to start with.

You'd know if you'd repartitioned the memory - it's not something you can do without realising. You also need to be S-Off to do it. So if you don't think you've changed them, you haven't :D

Just downloaded GV1.6. May give it a go tomorrow at work if it's quiet. I can see what you mean about being bigger. Oxygen 2.0.1 download is 61mb and GV1.6 is 92mb.

Yeah it is bigger but Oxygen is stripped down. GV has a lot to it. Its not all bloat either. CM settings are great and theme chooser is cool too.

I strip loads of apps out. I strip to to about 63MB but it still unpacks at over 100MB.

Oxygen and GV look and feel the same, except that GV has CM settings, theme chooser, and is getting updates like every week. :)

ok think im going to try and get this on. just checking i got the right steps.

download zip to sd card
reboot in to recovery
clear cach and the other one??
flash rom.

do i have to flash a new redio too? i have at the moment 32.49.0032u_5.11.05.27.

i currently have insertcoinHD2.0.0 as i have just done the tmod root.

still learning so any info would be great

Don't forget the nandroid backup before you flash the ROM.

The radio version you have is fine, it's the same one I have and I'm on GV 1.5, about to update to 1.6.

Did you do a Wipe Data and Wipe Cache in CWM recovery (do it)?
Did you restore the system settings back to your phone (don't do it)?

cleared both caches. didn't restore anything from titanium but everything loaded up ok including all my apps on the home screen. also noticed that the notification bar was not loaded up either.

i have since flashed back to insertcoinHD2.0.0 from the boot loader which then got me stuck in a boot loop screen!!! got back into recovery and did a restore from cwm!

so back to 2.2 i think for the time being

once again thanks to barefootpilot for telling me to do the NANDRIOD back up!!!

I have had the same warning coming up from time to time when I flashed a GV ROM. I simply wiped data and dalvik and reflashed and all is well. Worth looking at GV. Works great.

Hi,

Has anyone has problems with their "Home" button. Mine does not seem to do anything, plus my screenlock does not work... unless I'm forgetting to set something up.

Reflash the rom straight over the top?

I have had it in the past. A few others have too. You could try re-flashing the ROM. Did you do a full wipe before flashing? You could Wipe.

I know I solved my issue ages ago but cant for the life of me remember how.

Replied as I was editing. I did a factory reset prior to installation. Will try the whole shibang again.
