I had Google voice search working but now it's dead again. To get it working the first time I installed it from the market but now it says it's installed but whenever I push the mic on the keyboard it just comes up with the red line through it and if I try the mic by the google search box it runs the circle a few times and then goes back to the screen as if I hadn't pushed the button. It's like the service isn't running.

Any ideas?

EDIT:

Well I finally got it working again. I had to download an old version, intall that which didn't work, it just failed and brought up the force quit button. Then I went back to the market which now said the service needed to be updated. I let it update and now it's working again. I hope this doesn't keep happening. What a pain!

EDIT AGAIN:

Okay, it seems that if I reboot the voice search quits and I have to go through the above procedure. Any ideas on why this might happen?

It would make things easier if I could just download the Voice Search from the market but it will only let me send it to the phone. Anybody have a copy of the voice search 2.1.1 apk setting around they can send me?

Or better yet, any ideas on how to keep it working?

Use Titanium Backup to uninstall Voice Search, reboot, then reinstall from the Market and reboot. :)
 
Still having the battery problem :(

Every time my phone was fully charged (100%) and I unplug it, few minutes later, it decreases to 95%. Then, after about 5 minutes later it decreases to 90%, then another 5 minutes later it decreases to 90%, then in about 10 minutes it decreases to 85%.

That's the only big problem I encountered so far. I don't know if it's because my battery is actually being consumed very fast or because it's a glitch/bug.

+ Last time when I checked my battery use, it said Camera used up 70% of my battery.

Try charging up the phone and using it till it goes completely flat and turns itself off, see how long it takes, it maybe the indicator isn't showing the correct reading. Also make sure any gps or internet connection, data or wifi turns itself off when your not using the phone or the screen is off.

For some reason TB would not uninstall it when I first tried. It said it was successfully uninstalled but when I would reboot it would still be there. I tried this seveal times and would go to the market and uninstall the upgrade it thought was in place for Voice Search, then reinstall Voice search and use TB to uninstall it again and finally it really uninstalled! Then I loaded it again and voila, it worked and I can reboot and it still works! Not sure what actually made it uninstallable.

I also uninstalled Voice Dialer thinking it may be using the resources and therefore keeping voice search from being uninstalled but when I went to reinstall it from the market it's a 1.99! bummer.

I hate to reinstall the rom to get it back because i'm afraid I'll have to go through all this again? How else can I get voice dialer back?

is it possible to upgrade 2.3 without problem...and if its possible could you write the simple way to do this...

i think that if you choose turkish as your lenguage, it will automatically set the keyboard, otherwise you need a keyboard replacement, and set it to use whatever QWERTY, QWERTZ, etc... config. you use
 
Does PC Suite IV work with 2.3.3? I found the program, and got it installed but everytime It tries to connect to the phone it says "No Response from Phone"

Do I need a specific program on the phone? Can I get it from the market?

I've tried turning mass storage on and off and tried turning debugging on and off. No matter what, the program doesn't see the phone.

When I install the LG drivers, they all install successfully so I don't know where the issue is.

Just follow the instructions in the first post and you'll be fine. It won't get any simpler then that. :)

PC Suite doesn't work with CM7, sorry!

No it doesn't work, because 2.3.3 is not an official ROM so the official suite does not see it.
If you need to reflash the 2.3.3 i would backup all your data using 'mybackup root' this can save all your mms, sms,contacts etc, plus app data (i would not backup apk's though, just the data) to SD card.
Then reflash the rom sort your access to the market and install the google apps it suggests, plus titanium backup and use TB to remove google voice, then reinstall it as per previous posts. Then use mybackup root to recover all your personal data. I wouldn't recommend using TB as a backup method as it seems to be causing problems for some with boot loops etc.

I have done this 3 times over the last few days with various different ROM's and it should only take about 30 mins to get the phone functioning as it should again.

yeahh, i'm having the same problem... except when i check my battery use, it says Gallery used up 45%... but my phone still lasts the whole day, so I'm not terribly bothered.. but ya it used to last around 2 days.

Also, does anyone know if it's possible to store your sms/mms threads on the sd card and the phone will automatically save and read future messages from the sd card?

Could you help me? I updated my gt540, and it worked perfectly. Than after 10 minutes all of the buttons don't work...Only the power button works. Could you tell me what is the problem? Sorry for my English...i have learning English for half year.

ran into another problem with android 2.3. i followed the exact instructions to fix the accelerometer but somehow the sensor.zip made my phone accelerometer lag even more. For example: when I play Doodle Jump, it takes at least a second to respond to left turns.

Anyone know what's wrong with my accelerometer?

not really sure why it does that, but mine did that once, i just rebooted, and rebooted until all buttons worked again, must be a bug
 
Sound has completely gone after a few days of using this. Not saying it's the ROM, but it's gone anyway, and I can't fix it.

The risks of breaking your warranty.

Did you reboot after applying the fix?

I've tried everything I can think of. People have said clicking brightness on the Power Manager works. Others have said turning the volume down fully, then back up works.

I've reflashed about three or four times, and I'm about to do it once more. If it doesn't work, I'm going back to 2.1 and going to attempt to get it fixed by LG. Only option left.

Speakers don't just quit working after the length of time I've had this phone. Something's wrong. I just don't know what it is. And I'm skeptical that it's the hardware, given everything works when I plug my headset in.
