One thing that bugs me is how any picture i send via MMS gets compressed. Is there a solution for us rooted users?

how do i to check

edit: I just changed it from 2mb to 5mb from the stock message app. Does it also apply it to handcent?

Ha wish i knew, some roms have a setting for this that have the fix included. I tried to attach a file over 2mb and see what it said lol figured you hit a limit since you were asking

hmmm Any idea on which roms those are? I just hate sending and receiving pictures with a bunch of damn squares all over it due to the compression!!!! Sprints MMS is horrible!!!!

That should apply to handcent also...did it not? you changed it from 2 to 5 already? apparently you are on one of those roms lol...?

Apparently i dont send enough pictures, never noticed this...

sorry cya thats all i got, im not sure why its squashin ya pics. im not a picture kinda guy nor have i ever seen that pic with squares you speak off...and passing you to someone else now...LOL

Keep in mind that the cap is there not only for the send side....but the receiving side. T-mobile and ATT both have limits on what they can receive

well me and my gf are both on sprint and our pictures come out crappy looking due tot he compression. I never had that problem on att, but i didn't have an evo on att either :D

Using find without the cap I get rejection errors when sending to ATT and t-mobile friends. They can't receive files over a specific file size. On sense time.I set the limit to 5know or use the talkin flashable zip which I believe completely removes the cap. I have never had an issue at 5know

i didnt understant any of this

can you please explain the bold? also where can i get this talking flashable zip?

You'll have to search xda for that I have a copy I can get ya later if ya can't find it. I grabbed it in a thread for a rom I flashed months ago

yes can you please post it later when you have time!? I'm actually heading to class . i'll see if i can maybe sneak something in. but please post it if you have it, that would be awesome!

So is this why I can't send MMS pictures to any of my friends who are also on Sprint? My wife and my buddy are having a hard time receiving pictures I send them and we all have Sprint and Evo 4G's. I was using GoSMS and no luck. I then tried sending the same message twice with the stock messaging app and my wife finally received the same image three times back to back. I then tried sending the same picture to my buddy and he still hasn't received it. That was yesterday. I tried on WiFi and 3G and it doesn't seem to matter either way. I'm not sure what's up but this is VERY frustrating.

you have a whole different problem. never heard of it actually. me and gf and friends exchange pictures on our evo just fine.

evomattnc did you ever find that cauks fix?

That sounds more like a network issue. Adjust FYI....mms only sends over 3g ....never WiFi

Don't think so. It just sits there thinking bout it

That's annoying because I work from home and for the most part my phone is on WiFi all day long so that means if anyone sends me an MMS or I send one out it won't send/receive unless I disable the WiFi. Grrrr....
