The phone should look like this out of the box.

Motorola Defy above (hopefully my new phone)

This SHOULD work with any android. When I can flash back to icky, I'll test this on MetroWowee tonight

You guys are crazy. I don't know how you don't like that.
simple its windows lol, you thought the stock rom was crap, well windows phone os invited the word crap lol. Now it has came along n is much better than it has been, kinda like win7 lol.

Basically its not for the 'I want control of my phone crowd' like most android users are. And lol what did you expect on a android board??? ;)

I love android, but the thing I hate is tiny icons. I'm gonna go take a look at people's desktop screencaps and see if there's something attractive.

one place to check for winphone like n iphone like icons is on xda forums. Tons of icons. And a small screen with a small res is why small icons. Some launchers I think let you use larger ones.

ADW Launcher Ex will allow you to make your icons bigger, maybe not as huge as the window's tiles but i too dislike the tiny icons.

Oh man this reminds me of some themes I looked at today. Dude basically made transparent icons and created abstract or live wallpapers with the apps listed thru out the wallpaper. Then places the transparent icons over the spots the apps are on the wallpaper. some of them looked cool as hell. Dunno about functioning efficiently but lol. Also I think he had a phone with a whole lot bigger screen lol

Sounds cool but i move my damn icons around too much i would have to change the wall paper all the time. I would like to start going into more depth with the theming though. I saw some of your screen shots and it made me go over to the xda site. Another thing to make my wife hate my phone i guess.lol

Hey, if you like it, go for it. Don't worry about what anybody else thinks. It's your phone and you have to live with it everyday. Thats the great thing about android, you can make it the way YOU like it. (as opposed to windows phone7 lol)

[MOD] Bootanimation [CM7-3D] NEW VERSION 2 *Six6Sicks* 3/14/11 - xda-developers
Yea I got the last cm7 bootanimation on mine but I got the silver/grey one from the cm board lol. I put a blue overlay on it to match the rest of my theme :D

Can't for the life of me get the blue- comes up with file already exsists. Went into it with file mgr and there is one there that I can't re-name or move. Lil help?
you need a root explorer. Root Explorer is what I use and AndRoot is good too. Sure they are plenty of others both free n paid.

also look on your sd card in the goodies folder and delete the boot animation in there also...for some reason the boot animation folder drops the file in there 2, well it does for me when using bootanimation. but if i manully d/l a animation and use root explorer that dont happen

Okay- I got in there and del the exsisting file and replaced with 'bootanimation.zip' (the new one). I rebooted and no change to boot animation. Tried to install via terminal em and it came up with cannot create read only file system...

did it ask to over write the bootanimation.zip? and did you install to system/media?

I put the new file in system/media and enabled all permissions then rebooted - nothing. I've also deleted the file and tried to install using terminal em to no avail. The current boot image is CM7 with a red morph
would I need to do anything from that end?? TIA

where di you get the bootanimation? they have to be zipped in a certain mode to work. So if you unzipped it and did anything to then rezipped it that might be the issue.

I use n love winrar, it does it all when it comes to compressed files. Only thing I've seen it not open is .img's.
