No, I've been using LP+ since the first Froyo leaks were out over 2 months ago. You'll be 100% fineI vaguely recall that LauncherPro would not transition to 2.2? Is that true?

Only time will tell.Wait does this mean we get Google Search as an option or our we stuck with Bing, i remember awhile ago saying that we would have the option to toggle search engines.
OK, I'm going to make it happen. I have a long history of buying electronic and audio equipment that seems to be the best decision, only to have it outdated within days. A recent example - I purchased a Pioneer VSX-1020 THREE DAYS before they announced the VSX-1021 (it adds Airplay).
I just found a deal on a Droid X. It should be in my hands by the end of the week. This action ensures that the Fascinate will have Froyo by month-end. Doubt me if you must, but in the fatal last words of many a southern redneck I say:
"Hey guys, watch this!"
Software Update: Samsung Fascinate Finally Now I dont have to suffer software shame now lets just get Gingerbread and ill be set..
Come out Come out, where ever you are, all knowing Tarrant.....

Whether they did or not, who knows, but.. sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures, and I was happy to oblige.Ok. I know I'll be checking periodically tonight to get the update as I speculate most of you will also be doing. I CERTAINLY wont be waiting patiently for it to "pop" up.
Anybody wanna start making guesses what time they will make it available? I'll place my bets at 3am.
Takers??

I will wait a few days to update to this. Every single OS update that has been put out for the Galaxy S devices including the recent Gingerbread has been pulled after a day or two do to bad things happening to peoples devices. After its been out a few days and verified to be ok I will update.
Erm, if you scroll back a bit, you'll see that I was the first to post the announcement from VZW.
Perhaps I'll join the Gingerbread speculation thread in a reversed role. "Guys, relax, we're going to be getting 2.3 -any- -day- -now-, I can feel it!" ;X
If anybody wants to try on my devil's advocate hat next round, you're welcome to it: it's one size fits all.
Having said that, there was a reason for doing what I did, and it has nothing to do with you guys. It was about stirring the pot as vigorously as possible until VZW took notice.Whether they did or not, who knows, but.. sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures, and I was happy to oblige.
The fact is the Samsung Fascinate is -not- going to be upgraded to 2.2. Period.
Sure, sometimes development gets delayed for whatever reason, and sometimes those delays can be significant. But almost 9 months for a massive corporation to simply port an existing, completed package over to new hardware? Sorry, I don't buy it.
At this point, you're probably itching to point out that "well gosh, what about that leaked firmware?"
I propose to you that what was leaked was a version of 2.2 for the Fascinate that had been progressing before it was abandoned entirely. There's -absolutely- no reason to believe otherwise.
It's up to you. You can choose to believe or not believe indications I get from my sources. You can choose to believe or not believe indications that are over on XDA, if you ever keep tabs on folks over there. You can choose to follow twitters or IRC of all the dev's and others "in the know" on the Fascinate's latest. I have followed this industry for years, and I have actively modded and tweaked this phone since its release, actively following the latest here, on XDA, and a few times when I've had the chance on IRC.
I believe Froyo is coming, and I've personally seen and played with plenty of evidence. There are more test kernels, there's advertising that's been released showing the Fascinate with 2.2, there are other leaks coming out that people are playing with and testing, and this device overall has a considerable following. In addition, it took FOREVER for Verizon/HTC to finally release 2.1 for the Eris. It was a truly similar situation, and also a pretty popular phone. I have no reason to expect anything different this time with a Verizon/Samsung combo. The Eris had variants on other networks - of which Verizon was one of the last (possibly the last?) to get a Hero variant. The 2.1 update was a long time in coming, although I don't know when it hit the other networks. I wasn't quite as into this stuff back then as I am now.
If you want 2.2, you'll need to take one of the unfinished but mostly functional leaked versions and push it to your phone yourself. There will be no support from Verizon or Samsung on this.
